Protege for 800, and swap everything?

I found 2 proteges on carsoup in my area for about 800-900 dollars. They both have approx 130k miles on them, and supposedly run good. Would it be worth it to buy one of them, swap the engine, tranny, ecu, and all the other required things?
Or should I just get the engine with all the extras on ebay or something...?
Just wondering if any of you would jump at it.
