BP swap gas mileage

Hey, was wondering what you BP swappers get for gas mileage. I saw the v6 thread and though, hey I'd like to know.

So far I've had the BP for about 2 and a half weeks. Mostly I've drivin' in town. Except for the Woodbridge MX meets.

I've filled up twice since I've got the engine. But for the second tank, I drove about 385km and still had over a quarter left.
This is much better than my SOHC 1.6, which would have done 300km and have no fuel left.

so that's like 12.5km/litre

can some one convert that to miles/gallon for me?

1 liters = 0.264172051 US gallons

Just used google to snag that ;)

Check out this site:

http://www.convert-me.com/en/convert/fuel

It says 12.5 km/l = 29.4 mpg. My 1.6 SOHC gets around 33 mpg right now, and it's half dead. I'll post what my BP gets if I can ever find time to finish it.

The difference shouldn't be quite so drastic, but the 1.8 could indeed have more potential to get better gas mileage. Changes in the whole schebang that are for the better on the BP should allow better gas mileage (combustion chamber shape, ports, intake, etc.)

300km and no fuel left on your 1.6 is pretty crappy though. I haven't gotten less than 440km on 30 litres in about 5000kms.

here is a more complete fuel conversion utility.

hell no, the bp gets relatively poor fuel economy considering its design.

Most people I've talked to with BP's get 22-24mpg city and 25-28 highway.

On my BP I got a low of 22 mpg once and a high of 31mpg once. I averaged about 26 in mixed driving.

I have the 1.6 DOHC (manual) and I took my first somewhat long trip (500 km) and I used a half of a tank to get there and avg speed of about 120km/hr.
I was amazed at the fuel economy of this car :D

With my 1.6 SOHC i have gotten 40.81 MPG on flat trip, and wroughly 31 On Mtn pass/flat trip. So it matters on what you drive too. The SOHC does not like Elevation i have found.

I don't know how you went 500km on half a tank going 120. That is not correct. The rating of the 1.6 DOHC is like 39mpg highway and i'm pretty sure that is going at around 90. The MOST I have gotten out of a tank is about 615km and that is going 100-110 and I was pretty much on fumes....

Highway (from mazda) is 5.8L/100km (49 mpg) for the RS MT. That is going 60mph, or about 100kmh.

However, the department of energy says lower, more believeable numbers...

damn that means I have some sort of problem with my engine fuel management! i can only go up to 350 KM of a full tank of my 94 RS(DOHC). That really sucks.
