Someone just asked this 2 weeks ago. Try going throught the first couple of pages or better yet SEARCHing is a good way to find these things. But the average price was around $5000-6000

Umm..if you think buying the engine is all you need, you obviously need to SEARCH THE FORUMS.
You still need an intercooler, transmission (the 4wd one doesn't fit, seeing how your car is FWD..thats common knowledge), guages, engine management all cost a LOT OF MONEY. Fuel pump, FPR, BOV, boost controller, intercooler piping, custom downpipe...that costs 1000's of dollars. Buying the engine is the first step of many.

What happenin jlhc2003,
I put a bpt in mine not long ago..
The price actually varys depending on the year of your mx.. It is easier to swap into 92' and 93 than it is into the newer model.
I remember when I wanted to swap my engine to the bpt.. People were telling me so much crap that they said you would NEED but you actually dont.. Boost controller, fuel pump. The fuel pump is the same for the 323gtx and the mx-3.. Infact I think that they are all the same... I will tell you exactily what you need.
I suggest you try and find a bpt without the awd tranny!! It will be cheaper and easier to ship.. The awd tranny is useless and will end up in your basement..
After you purchase your bpt you will _need_ the following if your car is a 92-93:
-Boost and mixture gauge are always nice to have.
-Transmission (90-94 protege lx/escort gt)
-protege CV axels with mx-3 ends..
-Probally a new clutch.. It is up to you how good you want it to be and how much you want to spend. I just have a exedy clutch on a protege flywheel but I find it slips sometimes.. You might want to get one with better clamping force.
-Intercooler, the car could in theory run without it but the intake air temp would just be so so so hot you would get really bad detionation. If youre smart about it you can get an intercooler for 150 bucks... Thats how much mine was

Don't use the factory Mx gearbox...
Use the correct BP gearbox (g series). You might be able to get away with the Sohc BP gearbox, however it is an F series and it also has a taller final drive gear ratio. The taller gearing is really preferable with the BP-T, espeically in 1st and when your in 5th gear on the highway.
You should not have a problem bolting the speedogear up to the 92-93 cars with the Escort/Protege gearbox. They did not come with electrical driven speedo, they were cable driven.
