Strange lump by the throttle body

Cleaning the throttle parts, I started wondering what the thingie shown in the picture below is for. And that would be the question as well.

im not positive mine looked a little different but i think its a Idle air speed control sensor.

You dont.
Its there for a reason and I dont think your car will run without it.
