1.6 sohc to dohc?

Is it possible to convert a 1.6 sohc to a dohc. What is needed? thanks

Yes it is. It would probally be cheaper to swap your motor out for a BPD though.

the b6T is the easiest and cheapest route.

Remember that you'll need a hood scoop for the b6t though. The intake manifold doesn't allow you to shut the hood otherwise. Well,without scratching it up from what I've heard anyways.

not if u install a b6ze head on the b6t..(i think jarid is doing that as we speak)

no the bpd would be the cheapest and easiest

Really yeah it would be a cheaper option but the biggest thing is just to find prices and see what is cheapest for the parts available.

True, and that's actually recommended, but I think that guy has a SOHC.

Wait...I thought it was better to do this with a sohc. When I considered putting a 94+ B6 in with B6T cams, rods, etc. in my 92, I was told that it would be a big hassle with wiring and so on.
So is it easier or less expensive to go this route, or to go with a BP?
I don't want to cheap out cause I don't want to have to pull a blown engine again later, which is why I want to take the winter and spring to do this.
So what's the deal?

The biggest raeson why i suggest the bp is it takes less tiem to drop in a diffrent motor than it takes to do a head job.
