4 cyl 1.6 DOHC Motor upgrades

Post by Spotted »

OK.
What can I do add or remove from my motor in order to get maximum power gains from this motor without swapping the motor to anything else.
Cams,head work, valves, etc.
I would like some input from people who have done any of these upgrades.
Also, what else an I do to this motor for a little more get up and go

thanks a lot.

from what ive found working with my dohc it would have been cheaper for me to have swapped the motor.

Most of the replies you're gonna get are "swap it!",... I know, I asked roughly the same question.
See this message string for what I found:

The best info on boring the B6 engine is to be found over at the Miata forums. There are a few guys that have done extensive mods to the 1.6 DOHC engine & will be able to tell you about what parts to look for & what is needed to complete the upgrades.
The contents of this post are the opinions of myself and are NEVER meant to be percieved as the "be all, end all". So cram it!! :p
