A few minor problems....

Post by Timmyd865 »

Hey guys. So this is weird... It seems like after i wash my car or when it's raining, my car does this weird thing... I can't tell if it really is in those conditions... but it seems to be :( But here's what it is. As a drive, sumtimes after shifting, sumtimes just driving, it makes a SLIGHT audible squeek. Very light, but for that millisecond, it won't push. You can feel the "slip" feeling of it. It really feels like if the car was driven by pullies a pulley slipping loose. I have a new clutch, but mighta toasted it already (after doing a 4th gear start  ) Yeah, don't all get on my case bout trying to get her rollin in 4th gear, just hadda try it! And it can do it! BUTTT... do you think it could be the clutch slipping? If it is, it'd be a good time to get a performance clutch then huh? But.. now how do i tell my parents I've fried another clutch if that's the case?!?!? AHHHH.. but what else could it be? I almost thought it could be a vacuum leak causing sumthing to not engage or sumthing.. but i don't know.
Another problem, If i set the idle at 2k, and sit there.. it feels like the car BOBBLES. That's the perfect word for it. It sounds like a bobble, and you feel it roll past your seat almost. It feels really wierd. It's like everynow and then and spontanious. It's not a loud sound, but it sounds like a bobble and then you feel it a little bit... I have NO idea what this could be, unless it's PING!!! AHHHHH well.. help me out!

my escort gt kinda made a squeaking sound once in awhile when i let my clutch out. but it still pulled pretty good. how long ago did you get your new clutch (miles)? did you let it break in? i suggest not doing anymore 4th gear starts...
