no it wouldnt be a straght swap.. the 91-96 escort gt was the escort motor that was a easy swap
-torp.
I don't own a Mazda.

i posted something like this a while ago, got zero replies. i had my car next to a ZX2 one day, and the guy who had the escort (who i may add is ASE certified, and a mechanic for the nat. guard) and kinda roughly compared the two, and it seems like it would drop in. i believe you'll need to change out the tranny, and definitly the ECU and wiring harness.

It would fit but you would need the entire mechanic and electronic compare to the engine with exhaust and intake manifold only with the escort gt 91-96. Done this swap in a friend rs 94 and it's a piece of cake the only think his decide before if you want to go with the bp computer or stay with the b6 computer
