less tire more rim or more tire less rim?

i hear alot of ppl talk about rim sizes and all that,one of my friends said that hes getting 18's cuz sumthing how there bigger so they get more distance.and then i hear other ppl say that getting smaller rims are better.i think my friend is wrong about that bigger gets more performance thing,soim just gonna get 15's or 16's,wu do u guys think?

bigger wheels = higher top speed<BR>smaller wheels = more acceleration<BR>but your speedo will not be the same, I suggest keeping the same diameter of the entire wheel, bigger rims have less tire turn in but a rougher ride, most people think bigger rims look better... at least thats the way i see it, someone correct me if I am wrong, tires and wheels aern't my specialty....
