not sure if this works but u can research it on the web, there is soposively a little way to trick your ecu, by attaching a toggle switch to your MPH guage, when u click the switch it cuts your guage off, and tricks the ecu and turns the governer off, this was actually design to work on some honda's that had that problem, a friend of mine did it to his car, but im not sure if it will work on the mx, and i wouldnt do it cause u have no working guages when u do that, so in my own oppion if u need to go faster than 100 mph, invest more money, cause daves right u only have 88hp how fast do u really think u will go?

I've got my SOHC up to 135mph on level ground, and haven't done any modifications as far as performance goes yet. So you don't really need more then the 88hp it has. As far as tricking the guvoner just disconect the speedometer cable, only problem will be that you dont know how fast your going. But it will bypass it. Good luck don't break anything.

When my stock SOHC motor was in I could do over 130MPH. With the B6T in, it smacked 150MPH like it was nothing REAL quick like! I'm still using my SOHC ECU on the B6T and the only governer I have is the rev limiter @ around 6350RPM. You could have your ECU reprogramed or swap it out with another SOHC ECU from my year (93).

i have a question. if you're wanting to go over 100mph and to do this you disconnect the speedo. how do you know if you're actually going over 100mph then?

You could look into a after market Speedometer. I don't know if the APEXi Rev/Speed meter works with mechanicaly driven Speedo's or not...I'm slowly looking into it because I'm thinking about changing up my dash. Does anyone elso know about the APEXi or any others that work with mechanicaly driven Speedo's??? If the APEXi uses it's own sensors then you could leave your stock speedo unhooked all the time & just use the APEXi, but I haven't looked into how they work yet.
