intake tube install question

Post by marshmallow15 »

i recently purchased a 94-00/94-98 civic/integra intake tube from autozone. it was a little too long for the mx-3, but fit perfectly after cutting. one question is the two tubes hooked up to the stock intake, i hooked up to the new intake tube. one of them is connected to the engine block and the other to the throttlebody i think. what do they do? i already know that your car will die when they're not hooked up.
if i lengthened the hoses connected to the intake tube, will that affect anything? will any small tiny leaks affect the vacuum or disrupt it?
overall, i didnt notice a gain of putting in a polished intake tube in place of the stock one. i guess the stock tube isnt too restrictive except for those ridges. the sound wasnt noticeable yet either. looks nice though a good mod for only $40

im asking the same thing the hose to the valve cover can be filtered off with one of those breather filters but the other one is the one that cause the car to stall out im also stuck on that! :)

the one is a pcv valve on ur valve cover.. the other one is ur air idle control valve.. it just is for the idle to be proper.. and yeah.. don't have any leaks in ur intake system.. cause that means there's a chance of unfiltered air gettin into ur engine.

the one that goes into the valve cover is not for the pcv valve the valve is located on the left the one connected to the intake is just a vacume hose iused 2 breather filters to get rid of the hose.
Image

this is kinda off topic but did you ever have problems with the GSX? My friend has an older one and always seems to be bringing it to the shop. He drives it slow as crap too! I guess it is just the turbo and the mitsu engine that are unreliable huh?

not really many problems because my bro knew what he was doing...even though it was highly tuned. i guess if your tuning on a F/I car is bad, you can have lots of problems. we didnt have many serious problems..only a few small fix-it things.
