I have always wanted a 15" wheel with a 235 -50-15 tire. You get the small diameter rim, lightweight and 235 mm of killer traction. If you dont lower it that much you wont rub. something like a pirelli or yokahama with a real soft tread rating, if you dont mind getting 25,000 miles out of a tire. if you want something harder and with more mileage go with a nitto, toyo or goodyear.

i looked into going to 15s and was told that the dimensions of the existing tire is 23.47 inches for the od of the tire and 7.3 inches wide. this is for 185/65/r14. the best matches to these dimensions in 15 tire are:
185/60/15 tire od = 23.74 and width = 7.3
195/55/15 tire od = 23.44 and width = 7.7
i was more concerned with matching od so the odometer and speed calibrations are still good. i guess you would minimize rub with more narrow tire though. does anyone heve either of these size 15s and is there any rub?

When I got my 15's I asked the tires shop what would be the best size to go for and I was thinking of getting a 195/50/15 which i have now and they said that would be fine and is in the 5% range for the speedometer so I should be fine. SInce having them, they seem fine and I seem to be going the right speed
