Making a muffled sound. Electrical seems fine, fuses and all of course, otherwise it wouldn't work at all. <P>I want to replace it with a more powerful horn. But, try as I could, I could not find where the horn is located physically. From honking it to find out where the sound was coming from, it sounds like<I> it's possibly located in the passenger side towards the firewall in the engine compartment (if you are in the driver's seat facing the windsheild)</I><P>I don't want to spend $100 at a dealer to have them replace it. <B>The new more powerful horn only cost me $12.</B> <BR>-Ed

Ok I have a GS but I would think they are in the same place <P>take out the passanger side turn signal light and look down about two inches its a black roundish thing

Man, it wouldn't be an Mazda if it wasn't an absolute pain in the a-- to replace a simple item!<P>I'll post pics of the process if ppl want em. It seems that a lot of ppl have had problems finding the horn.<P>-Ed

Here's an idea... why dont you get someone to press the horn and you look and listen under the hood at the same time... just a thought...

<B>Okay, here's step-by-step pictorial instructions on how to replace the 'lil MX-3 horn.</B><BR>If you pick a smaller horn for replacement, you can skip the pain in the a-- part of removing the headlight to get the new horn to fit.<P>I used a double horn <B><I>Wolo Manufacturing Maxi Sound</I></B>. It's soooo much louder than the stock horn. 112dB of highway fun!!! <BR> <A HREF="http://www.wolo-mfg.com/elec.htm" TARGET=_blank>http://www.wolo-mfg.com/elec.htm</A> <BR>It's probably easier to fit the disc shaped horns in there. But the double high tone / low tone horns sound the best!<P><BR> <P><BR> <P><BR> <P><BR> <P><BR> <P><BR> <P><BR>Hope this helps others out.
