Yes, I've done a search.
And yes, I've checked the wiring diagram on this site, but it doesn't tell me where the horn itself is located. :(

Does anybody know where the physical location of the horn is in the 1.6L MX-3?
Mine's bone screwy. Making a muffled sound. Electrical seems fine, fuses and all of course, otherwise it wouldn't work at all.
I want to replace it with a more powerful horn. But, try as I could, I could not find where the horn is located physically. From honking it to find out where the sound was coming from, it sounds like it's possibly located in the passenger side towards the firewall in the engine compartment (if you are in the driver's seat facing the windsheild)
I don't want to spend $100 at a dealer to have them replace it. The new more powerful horn only cost me $12. :D
-Ed

Okay, here's step-by-step pictorial instructions on how to replace the 'lil MX-3 horn.
If you pick a smaller horn for replacement, you can skip the pain in the a-- part of removing the headlight to get the new horn to fit.
I used a double horn Wolo Manufacturing Maxi Sound. It's soooo much louder than the stock horn. 112dB of highway fun!!! :D
http://www.wolo-mfg.com/elec.htm
It's probably easier to fit the disc shaped horns in there. But the double high tone / low tone horns sound the best!

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Hope this helps others out. Thanks to White Fish for pointing out where the horn is.
-Ed
