I wanna build a custom ram air intake but I'm not sure what's the best way. Should I buy a K&N open filter to replace my stock air box and then use 3" pipes starting from the filter to under the car (w/ an angle to create a ram air effect) or is there a better way?

A step by step would be appreciate.

i bought a weapon R intake kit for my car... the thing fit horribly... i ended up cutting up my snorkle, so i just went to home depot..it cost be bout 40 dollars for the pvc and rubber tubing and clamps, i was gonna do a ram air but it was to much trouble, so i just cut a hole inside of my fender wall and have the intake go into there.

I bought a Ractive cone filter and and 3 inch piece rubber adapter from the plumbing area at Can. Tire. It fits perfectly. I don't have it near the bottom of the car because of debris. The sound is great and there's a very noticable power difference when the throttle is buried.

And I won't put the filter at the bottom of the car, I just want to have a pipe that will go from the bottom to the filter w/ a little screen at the beginning to stop bug and other stuff like that.

Spetnaz, i also just picked up a Ractive cone filter, i tried attaching it to my engine by taking off the air box and just strapping it in, but my engine stalled out...<P><BR>how (in detail) did you accomplish it??

get a 92-95 civic intake from ractive, 60 bucks or so cut about 6 inchs off the long end remove your rad overflow (if u have A/C then just kinda bend the A/C line out of hte way to get the filter into the fender area bend pipe back reinstall the rad overflow and then connect the pipe the the end of the MAS with the rubber adaptor provided! i have an old pic of my engine bay thats shows it <BR>copy and paste the link into a new browser!~<BR><A HREF="http://importa.tripod.com/mikeeng.jpg" TARGET=_blank>http://importa.tripod.com/mikeeng.jpg</A><p>[ March 10, 2002: Message edited by: Dj_Pawz_GS ]
