I forgot to mention, for the ignition switch you can probably just unplug yours and plug in another one without actually removing the switch from the steering column. And remember, when you feel like your at the end of your rope and before you kick the chair out from under you there's always tomorrow and with it one more chance to crack this basta*d. Don't give up,,,you noob.

ahhhh good thinkin man! save alot of un-needed work hopefully. and yaah its my noobyness thats getting to me and making me hit the end of my rope. but ive figured out if i just go sit in the driver seat n think about the fun ive had in it and the fun there is to have in it. it makes me keep going

.. but ill get it eventually, in a way i see this as a good lesson on how to figure out problems like this in the future.

k i got a question and an idea that might make this easier for me. What does each wire do that run to the 2 plugs on the disty? thinking this will help me figure out which wires to tests n follow.

The 1000ohm? You buy then install it near your disty.

There is nothing in the harness, just wires.

Hey hey, when did you buy the disty? I've had a few issues with RockAuto parts not working as advertized, and they've been great about making it right. If it was fairly recent, you should call them up as soon as they're open in the morning, and explain the situation. I've had a few things refunded, and a few others replaced with a partial refund; They've gone above and beyond a few times now.
Definitely worth giving them a call, but you'll probably want the purchase number handy when you do so. The printed receipt, or the email confirmation will have the info you need.
Good luck with it, I hope they make it up to you.
Side not, how come only some people's posts are auto filtered for profanity? I get ----'d when I swear.

I called RockAuto about a part problem and 2 days later I had a replacement and he said don't bother returning the other part. I likes Rockauto. Give them a call and follow the HEI wiring diagram,,you noob.

I found my 2 old distys, one from the klze n the stock k8 one. i noticed the KLZE distys cap has a 7th plug thats marked C. and it runs to the rotor. would this work instead of installing a power tower into my k8 disty cap? just curious.
