Re: Question about intake mani options

Post by MrMazda92 »

Good choice on the G4 IM btw, I like it! I'm still torn between straightneck and G4, but the more I think about it, the G4 is probably the best choice for my goals too.

What are your goals with this engine? Will you be building it for boost, or NA?
I may be able to help you gather information... I've been working like mad to get all of my links and obscure threads back. I'm combing through more than 20 different forums whenever I get the chance... From small block Chevy performance to Bimmer I6s, there's something to learn everywhere.

If you'd like, I can be a sounding board for ideas too. :P

I know you believe that you understand what you think I said but I'm sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Ryan, I have been waiting for your input on this one.

From everything that I have read about the G4 is that it is more balanced and the air actually enters into the plenums in the middle causing better distribution, the bonus was in added HP but a slight loss in TQ. The only way to effectively know this is to dyno tune, but the more I read about them the more I really want to try it out. I have a line on one that I am probably going to pick up here in the next few days assuming i can get it at a good price.

I've read the same Josh. Less torque is a good thing for us too. ;)
