That was assuming sufficient horsepower. Our Co of Drag is 0.4 if someone wants to factor in aerodynamics. Or just drive with wind.

Also, tires get bigger when spinning. Centripital force causes them to radially expand. didn't account for that either.

so 626 tranny > mx6 tranny? I thought the mx6 had the longest gears or is it the escort?

They are identical.

hey I got a question...

im boosted.. BUT.. i swapped my tranny as the old one blew... for a pgt transmission. My old transmission could go at least to 136 mph(with the same wheels i got) at 7k rpms.

Now this one... 130 mph at 7k rpms.. what gives? are pgt transmissoons lower geared? did I have a mx6 or 626 transmission? any input?

My clutch is pretty good, doesnt slip at all by the way. The turbo will let the car go over 7k rpms but thats just blow up territory.

No i dont do constant 130 mph just that last time I wanted to test it for a few secs and it topped at 130...

It's been said many times, Probe 5-speed is the same as in the Mx-3.

PGT is the same GB as the K8 lol. You must have had an MX6/626 tranny before.

Btw definitely jumping on the BS bandwagon here with people going 140+MPH in their K8's. There's not enough power after 7000RPMS in to move the car at those speeds with that much wind resistance. Your speedo's are wrong. Go to a race track and get a speed gun to measure yourself or something. You might make 120-130MPH but 140+, doubt it's accurate and it would take a LONG time to get there and maybe some downhill + wind behind you.

I hit 125 mph in my old 92 GS. The RPM's were in the 6000's. I could say that I still had about another 1000 RPM's before I redlined but the power band (I thought) stops "pulling" before you get to the redline. (example: Power "curve").

I would feel confident that I could have gotten to 130mph but that's about it. This was on a straight highway, no cars, on I-86 (southern tier expressway in NY near Olean). I had a CAI, stock 15" honeycombs, and pacesetter exhaust (cat-back only).

Just my .02

Cant wait to see what my 94 GS-DE will do :)

EDITED ** i yesterday did a little experience wth my 1997 K8 mx3
i am yet to try it on first , second and fith gear, but ... i measured the actual speed ( in my GPS ) on wich my gears have the fuel cut-off

1st gear - 52kmh ,, 32mph
2nd gear - 96kmh .. 60mph
3rd gear - 130kmh .. 81mph
4rth gear - 178kmh .. 111 mph

5th gear - ???kmh .. ???mph

i know my second gear cuts off at 100kmh in the speedo, but i want to see my actual speed.
Since my car is a 97, it cuts fuel at 7200 rpm ... maybe u guys with the older cars, can see whats the top real speed of each gear to see if it changes a lot

Ps: This was with regular tyre size, i cant wait to see with 215/45 R17 tyres

Measured with Becker GPS , video recorded *car with full load ( about 200kilos more on the car, i was moving my home )
this was made with 215/45 R17 tires, in the speedo its really accurate now. It had some error before when i stated it went to 145 ...

my k8 ive gotten it to roughly 132mph and it took forever to get there because my 5th gear sucks i shift to 5th going about 110mph and then the wait to even get higher than that isn't even worth it so i rarely go over 120mph.

I hit 205km/h in my K8... but it was s---. And my tires are slightly undersized so that means I went a bit faster. I believe you can hit 240 with a K8 it just has to be a strong one. Mine wasn't.

Sooo not to be a downer but I dont recall anyone saying they did this on a track. Personally I think its awesome that everyones 3 can hit these speeds and that theres an elusive few that can go even further but what happened to encouraging enthusiasts to take this to the track, away from people, where you can get slips and video coverage, and you keep from looking like all the other high school hondas wrapped around a pole after doing 115 in a 55?

So no offense to anyone here but Ild like to see some track results on here if anyone gets the chance or ambition, Ive seen to many drivers in the other lane loose it at these speeds to encourage someone that might not truely know how to handle a vehicle at those speeds to reach them. Btw if you ever want some fun keep your local tracks address in your wallet for every time someone wants to "race" your 3, its fun to watch the results

I don't know of any tracks in the area that would actually have the space to reach those speeds...
