Well it's been a while since I've updated it. Not much to update. Work has been going well that I decided to concentrate on paying stuff off, including my line of credit. In the meantime, I've still been gathering parts and equipment to work on the Mx-3. Well, I dont have pics of them, but I picked up an engine stand and engine hoist. And here's what I've acquired for parts so far:

Clutchmaster Stage 3 Clutch

Fidanza Flywheel

Millenia S rods

Unorthodox Underdrive Pulley

Clevite 77 Rod Bearings

ColtCams N/A Street Grind

Wytbishop's Solid Swaybar End Links

Traction Bars from the group buy

There will be more parts along the way. I'm still hoping to get her running for spring.

Wow, I never really realized how nice of a car you had :) Outside is done well, under the hood is done well... I'm impressed.

Thanks! :D It's a long and not 56k friendly worklog, so I don't know how much you read.

Ya, she's just an ongoing project. I do miss her and she's been off the road for a year now. She'll come out a totally different car. I still have the CF hatch to get, along with that a CF wing. I'd like to combine that with a CF MS bumper before she rolls out of the garage, along with a new motor, tranny and other misc parts. Should be fun :)

What is the street grind... Higher lift, same duration?

I'm building the motor to handle a high-reving setup, but I'm trying something different. I want to see wha the powerband is like on the N/A cams since they seems to make power quite high up as well, and I've heard about the poor streetability of the race cams, as well as the power being too "peaky". I want to see if they'll give a broader torque curve that would be handy for autocross and the like, and than later I'd like to switch to his tri-flow 210/218 grind. I dont normally like doing things twice, but I'll make an exception for the cams. As well, Geoff wants some dyno's on the motor before the tri-flows so he can actually see what the difference truely is. He's only even made 1 set for the KL, and last I talked to him they've been sitting for several months and never picked up.

Considering you live in Burlington, you may of seen me literally fly by at one point ;)

Honestly, I like to influence and inspire people. None of my work is top secret and I like sharing any information that anyone wants...it's the only way to help the Mx-3 community progress and show we can still compete with the best. It's fun being the underdog

As far as I know anyway, I think that's it for spending on Mx-3 parts for the year...I'd like to get the valves next year and start with the headwork.

speaking of head work, I need to once again rebuild my engine, I must put away my car for the winter, looking for brand names for headgaskets, rods& bearings, and maybe better valves & springs

Hmm, depends on what you're building it for...

Headgaskets, not sure, but OEM is pretty robust unless your going high boost. Rods, plenty of choices, Millenia S are an upgrade, than you've got plenty of other options. Check out http://www.importperformanceparts.net/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for what you can get. Bearings, I've read and been told and ACL and Clevite are some of the best you can get. Valves, I believe the only readilily avaiable options are the Ferrea's, which supposibely require their valvetrain. For springs, DE springs are an upgrade on a ZE, than you can go with Interprep, and the best would be Ferrea.

I paid the Mx-3 a visit 2 days ago, needed to add some fuel stabalizer, and took some pics.

New Yellow Top and my External Coil mod that was done over the year trying to figure out what was wrong with my motor. That will all be taken out for an external coil system anyway, so no point making it pretty.
Image

I loaned my deck to my buddy for a bit, he wanted to get one, I figured to loan it since it's not being used anyway, so he can see if he likes it or not. Pulling it out I realised that the stock harness was cut and spliced into the deck harness (so sue me I had a shop so it, I didn't know what I do now almost 7 years ago and didn't want to blow a $600 head unit). I've got the rest of the harness from a wrecked Mx-3 to fix that.

My barely used SE seats :( Damn she needs a good cleaning.

And my engine hoist and stand waiting until the real work starts.
