I don't think so... I highly doubt it at least! :)

If it's meant to happen, it'll happen! I've thought about boosting my KL from time to time, but I always decide against it... It's the simplest way to make power, but I honestly don't feel I need to do it. I wouldn't feel 250, or even 300bhp was "earned" if it all came from FI. Knowing how I am with things, I wouldn't settle for under 500 BHP... That's full PAR gearset territory, and I don't have that kind of money to invest.

There is power to be had NA. not a lot but there is. look into what the miata guys are doing, intake cam mod, light weight underdrive pulley set (ok IMO as long as you are NA), Port match. list goes on. There was a guy on the forum several years ago that hit like 111WHP on a JY BP with like headers and ITB's. I think his cardomain page is still floating around.

BO perhaps I will have mine up by then too ;)

yeah the amount of money people put in to getting n/a power could be put towards a good turbo setup. BPs were made for boost

There is a guy right now selling a BP setup Garrett T25, manifold, piping, oil stuff...
I'm thinking about talking him down since I can't afford that this close to Xmas

But since I have the Megasquirt setup, All I'd be missing is the injectors and intercooler...

Bo, opinions? :freak: :freak: :freak:
(I would like to point out that this goes against my idea os a SC BP)

i dont think you will be disappointed with a turbo, and its not like you cant supercharge it later down the road

There is no reason really that you could not do a M62 SC mounted in your AC location on your block like the V6 guys do. That would make for a killer little BP!

My original intent was to go with an electronically clutched M62 from a 98-00 SLK.
Lots of details... too early to type.

The BP still runs. Still doing good. Looking to grab a block and rebuild it over the summer. Then just do a quick swap and be back on the road.

I now own one of these GS ZE thingys.

So the pst couple months have been pretty odd for me. I got laid off and have been short on cash (still won't get rid of one of my cars though).
I may have an exhaust leak... Wish I could afford the GS setup, should work nice with my BP.
Image
I ordered an anodized gauge cluster thingy before I lost my income.
While I was back there, I pulled the green plastic sleeves off the bulbs and replaced the burnt ones...
The gauges look much better in the dark. I might wire up some white LEDs to go back there. I also have a white EL wire that I might use for the accent lighting. Thinking about picking up black indiglo gauges from ebay...
Image
I started working on hatch struts for my car. I need to find a person who can weld something up for me real quick...
Image
Was driving home one day and my neighbor was out mowing his lawn. There was nothing left of the little plastic guard that goes over the exit of the lawnmower, and he chipped a rock into my back window.
Image
Rocked the topless look for a while.
Image
Found a guy who had a RS spoiler version of the hatch, and $140 (and $50 in gas) later... Boom
Image
s---, it's the wrong color...
Pulled the spoiler off to start sanding it.
Image
Hatch off...
Image
Everything taped up, sanded and getting the Moonwax (sortof) treatment...
Image

I'll have to get another picture of the completed hatch tomorrow or something.

I also ended up grabbing a double stack lid for one of the cars...
The only major problem with it was the upper lid latch was broken. It also had a crack between the 2 holes on the larger cupholder insert.
So I started looking at options for fixing the latch.
Image
Found the Mazda 626 had a similar design/position for the latch...
Holes lined up nicely for the screws.
Image

Unfortunately, I can't find the pic where i tried closing it up... But the clasp portion is too wide to fit.
Hacksaw and sandpaper later...

Image
Once I got it sanded down, all is well in the double stack world.

Nice bp setup. It looks clean. Do you have any more pics of the engine bay?
