There`s a shop here in town that claims that they can do a street tune on my car. I don`t buy it, but a lot of people who have gone to him have had luck. However, it`s an mx-3. And to my knowledge cannot be tuned or chipped. So if you could please post pics and a description of the chip that would be great. Please don`t say e-bay.

A chip that makes over 20HP gain at the wheels for the 1.8L engine?

I'm pretty sure that RX8SE3P was just making a generalization. The idea is laughable, that's why on this board, with these members, we need proof.

Correct. 14HP sounds ridiculous also, especially since we are talking at the wheels too.... in fact I'm surprised in general that it even made 113HP at the wheels to start with. That's 84KW at the wheels, the K8 only makes 99KW at the engine from stock.

What we need is a dyno of stock, then on the same day a dyno with the chip. Visiting different dyno or going different days just adds to the variables.

A member posted his dyno a few years back and his stock K8 was 124 at the wheels, and I remember that cause he thought it was low, lol.

That's very very hard to believe. That's 92KW at the wheels and the K8 only makes 99KW at the crank stock.... so that's suggesting he only had a 7% drivetrain power loss. Generous dyno without a doubt.

He thought it was low eh

The chip is called here UNICHIP,this company is the only one in Romania who can do that, not only to my car! They are very good in what they do!They didnt replace my ECU or changed something to it!They simple came with a piece of paper where is my ECU positioned, and some things about wires, and then they came out with the UNICHIP(UNICHIP its a small ecu or chip, whatever),they have selected carefully they wires from my original ECU to the UNICHIP,and then the DYNO test and then made the necessary adjustments to the mixture of gasoline and air, I do not know exactly what adjustments were made because I do not know so well! certain is that the result of what they have done there, and the car runs like crazy
