Yeah someone on facebook mentioned that it looked like the Kool-Aid guy. They asked whos house I was going to run into first... NO.

New rims on it. Didn't like the center caps. I may paint them black shortly.

Ahahaha, you should've named it Koolaid!! :D God that made me laugh, I honestly like the look of black sides/lips that people've been doing lately, I didn't think it'd look clean but it honestly does!

Someone else is doing black sides/muds/lips?
I thought I was being cool by not getting the right paint to match my car...

I don't remember which worklog, but another member here has done similarly(full length sides, I believe?), and the post about the 323F(lantis) had a link to a Lantis with black sides as well :)

I like the look of it, and I used to complain about how the RS garnish was black over other colored paintjobs... My tastes are evolving I think. :D

Ahh, figured it out! It's JayoM's car, the same from that worklog, as well as the Lantis worklog(I saw JayoM's signature in the Lantis worklog)

So, I guess I should do a roadmap for my car now that I have it running smoothly.

-----Engine stuff-----
8.5mm spark plug wires
HEI mod
Megasquirt 2
Cold Air intake (probably put one together from parts)
MP62 clutched unit
AFPR
Walbro 255 lph fuel pump
86-88 turbo RX7 MAF
Pacesetter exhaust system (2.5")
Already have the pacesetter headers
High temp exhaust wrap
Solid/not squishy motor mounts
Adjustable cam gears
Exintake mod
323 GTR intake manifold
Millenia Alternator

-----Non engine stuff-----
Smoke front/rear marker lights
Black halo headlights
Front strut tower bar (Whiteline?)
Front GS lip
Raised RS spoiler
Tint the windows
Tint rear tails
B&G lowering springs
KYB Excel GR2 struts

PUMPKIN PAINT!! Oh wait, I already did that...

What I imagine people are thinking when I get out of my car

I would like to say that without the push from MrMazda92, I would never have completed the purchase of my megasquirt.
Now the waiting game. Maybe I should put some work into my dome light mod while I have the soldering iron out...

Ahh, you're welcome! :freak:

You'll be glad for the purchase, trust me! I'm still waiting until I figure out the external powersource issue with my Stratified unit. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to power it without it being plugged in...

It'd be fine if I had a laptop, sheesh!

So, I'm building a MegaSquirt 2 for my car. I bought the DIY kit from them and I'm SO LOST...

I'll be using this for reference.
http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/V3assemble.htm
Step #22
For the "optional" component... Do I install the circuit for the IAC Stepper motor? I don't know if my BP05 uses one or not. Which relates to step #62 I skipped the PWM Idle valve component. I'd swear I don't need that.
Step #50 I installed The Hall/Optical input circuit (#50.a) I did not install the "Coil negative terminal/points" (#50.b). I did not install the jumper to select between them. I also skipped step #51 since it implied that if I was using a Hall circuit I didn't need that.
Step #65 I didn't know which option to choose. I believe I'm using the "Direct Coil Control" and should install the high current ignition driver? And run the steps on this page? http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/vb921.htm

I thought the MS2-extra board was a completely different set of hardware, but from what I've read it's an upgraded build of the base. Since I want to be able to use dual fuel maps, I believe I'd need to build it as a MS2-extra? As far as I can tell in the MS2-Extra conversion manual, I just need to run a wire from "S12c to JS9". That and install the firmware for it...
But then again if I can run switchable fuel tables from the plain MS2, I guess this is moot. Can I?
The setup for putting a hardware switched input for "Table switching" says to build a circuit and install it on the underside of the board. I assume I can build this in the "proto" section and run leads to the points. I'm a bit confused by the setup though. http://www.msextra.com/doc/ms2extra/MS2 ... ableswitch

I'll be setting up a CP account shortly and seeing if I can get Lex to help me. He'll be all "Stupid noob" and I'll be lost :) still

lex will help you, but it will cost you. his advice aint free no more, he offers email help for a fee. my suggestion is to go over to miataturbo.net, TONS more megasquirt knowledge, thats where most of the squirted BPs are.

The advised me to buy one of the PnP units.

I like my PnP MS. :P
It kept me from messing up, at least so far!
The feature set is nice too, I'll be able to do everything I wanted right off the bat. :)

I still need to learn a lot about tuning though, I think I'm suffering from a few misconceptions.
