After installing the wytbushings prototypes last weekend I realize that I need a whole bunch of brake work. It's looking pretty sketchy under there. This is the problem with having a new parts addiction. Anytime I see a part that is only in average condition, I have to replace it with a new one. So now I'm pricing out enw brake components cuz I saw some rust.

Is there a 12 step program for cars?

ummmm to much..... I have been building it for 2 yrs now... and only 5 months ago put a complete hault to it so the g/f and I could get our house.... So considering I have nothing to show for myself for the past 2 yrs other then rent payment, food, bills, and a Purple MX3..... I would say somewhere around $15,000....

92 seats-$250-300(can't remember lol)
timing belt, water pump and pulleys and tensioners.-$500
upgraded alternator/with new belt-$230
twm short shifter and boot and third link bushings-$250

There used to be a Garage section on the boards here for a bit. Including the parts that weren't installed yet, it was somewhere around $25'000...don't think if it included the price of the car. I think I have a screen shot I kept of it somewhere burried in the High Knee...

Well...
Here's my '92(Tracy)

$1,200 Initial Cost
$400 for struts(w/ install) in all 4 corners
$1,400 for rebuilt trans, clutch job, trans mount and 2 motor mounts(This is why I decided to learn about cars myself)
$1000 for aesthetics, give or take $100
$2,200 for performance goodies, some of which have yet to see daylight

Blood, sweat, and tears... Priceless?

I'm missing some things, I have no doubt of that, I believe I'm about $7,000 in before taking into account that I sold numerous items after deciding not to use them... That car probably has $4,000 into it as she sits. That'll go to about $6,000 when I find the right G4 finally. :x

Sigh... I don't really even want to know. The international project alone was pretty expensive. :crying:

I am with you Mark, if I were to list the AWD car out my wife would not be happy at all... I will say this about it. multiple drive train conversions, 4 engines and it is on its second 7,000 dollar motor...

Daaang. It sounds like how much I've spent on 10 of the cars I've owned.
But that only proves I'm a cheapskate, and a smooth talker.

It's been making me rethink a lot of things, that's for sure... I used to save money like crazy, now I only pay bills and buy car parts. I'll be happy to have my engine swap and brake upgrade done, honestly. After that, I plan to touch up the paintjob, and find some Tiburon seats.

That may well finish up my '92 Project, at least for a while.

Happy note though, I finally brought my MG from storage to my house... It hasn't moved in years, I was shocked 2 of the tires held air.
