If you get fuel when cranking, then coil is your only option. Or HEI if you've messed with that.

the hei is out. its now just a straight hook up still nothing unless the disty i had is no good. but what could cause to blow a disty up?

ya sorry for the long post, i just thought if i posted it all then there wouldnt be so many questions of what ive done so far..

yes i have a 94 mx3. i had the 57171 on it when i got it (with the external hook up)
i just got one from Daninski its a 57172, thats the one the shop is going to try.
and i have a 94 Ecm with the probenator chip

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I gave you that disty cuz you said you didn't have one for your other MX-3. That disty won't work in a 94, it's a TOT57071, you need the TOT571*** right?

ill have to check but both of my mx-3s are 94's.. but i was wondering why it looked so different dan. remember when i was saying about the coil not being in the cap on mine.. But if it doesnt work for my car i will gladly give it back to you.

got some good news boys. that disty that you gave me dan is working perfect the car is now running and good to go.

Not sure how that's possible but hey great news. Oh ya that disty I gave you has no seal on it so either rob one off one of your other disties or go to the dealership the seal is like $4 bucks. It sits between the cap and the disty. Sorry I forgot to tell you I ripped it off before cuz is was in crappy shape.

ya thats fine. i will pop one on it..well its possible because instead of wiring the disty colour coded, just make sure the pins inside the 3/6pin are right, like red in the middle is power, then make sure you hook the power up to the middle instead of the left side. but anyways, thats how i got it to work, much thanks for you're guys help and much thanks to Dan for the disty.. and ryan no the cap ws really different instead of the coil coming from the disty the coil was attached to the cap itself.

If what your saying allows a 92-93 disty to work on a 94 then you need to do a write up with pics or drawings if possible and ask Jeff to put the post into the V6 FAQ section.

so who wants to go back to problem solving. when the car is running and i give it gas the rpm goes up to 2000 then back down then back up, kinda like its getting gas then it doesnt or like somehow theres to much air getting in and its like pulsating. any ideas?

VAF secure? my car does something like that when the VAF plug falls out (which is more often than I'd like)

hey guys got some good news.. just as i suspected there was a short in the wiring coming from the 6pin.. i finally got the car started then played with 1 wire at a time untill it stalled. and i found the problem. one of the power wires was melting to a ground wire which then had another power wire to it. and it was melting fusing together, so i seperated the wires taped them seperately adjusted the TPS for the pulsating that i told you guys about.. waited for about 3minutes for the engine to reset the TPS by its self... finished taping the wires etc. car starts everytime now.. PERFECT...

Now that i got ripped for $200.00 from the shop down the road. i dont know how he didnt see the wire fusing together or sparks from the wire when the car was turned on.. but not taking the car there again.. so right now the car is up and running:D
