Better ratios for what? Getting groceries, or a turbo.

Yes, Inodoro, you're correct, you actually do need a KL equipped car to get the KL. We're all shocked by that one.

But you still much more from an MX, because you can't just do it with a donor KL car. You made it sound like a MX-6 had all the parts you need for a KL MTX swap. Totally untrue.

Street use. Being that the OP didn't state he wanted a race car (or a car for any other purpose), I have to assume that's what he wants it for.

Well, judging for the amount of time it took you to understand it, it doesn't surprise me you're shocked.

I made it sound exactly like what I said: that the MX-6 and 626 are perfect alternatives for the KL/MTX swap. YOU tried to make it sound like I implied something else. Either way, I have my serious doubts about that one, but I'll have to take your word for it, as I don't have a way to research it now.

theres some worklogs with v6 swaps into rs cars you should take a look at. you will for the most part need a donor gs with a manual transmission to do this swap. itd be alot easier/cheaper for you to try and find a gs 5 speed and sell your current car then it would be to swap 4 cylinder auto to v6 5-speed...

try searching a little more. there are a bunch of threads with the answers to your question...
I agree on the difficulty level... another car would be easier. If you're head over heals in love with yours, you need a donor car.
heh by k series transmission i meant a tranny that came with a k series motor but i guess its good to be thorough
Actually mike had the right idea in mind. There is actually a G-series transmission for the B engines so just saying G-series is not accurate. When you say K-series transmission it's already implied that it's a G-series as those are the only ones that came with the Mazda K engines.

Umm, just to mention you'd need to swap the wiring harness from 4 to a 6cyl. To save a lot of time, aggravation, fighting on MX3 :rant2: and whatever please just find yourself a GS then swap the K8 for a DE, ZE or that newer KL-G4 engine. Then we only have to worry about the ECU and possibly VAF depending on the motor/intake combo you decide to go with. There is lots of info here, on MX6.com or Probetalk for you to read. :-|

I know you believe that you understand what you think I said but I'm sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.
