Sadly that sum of money would have to be enough for me to build a garage behind my house.

Unfortunately not, since the ZE intake manifold doesn't have an EGR port. It does have a cat, though.

Some states/provinces have exceptions for cars older than 15 years though.

Sadly I've never met him or seen this car in person. I always wanted to, and to check out the CarPC system forsure, heh. Considering he's been a member here in the same year where my engine blew on mine and she was off the road, I'm not surprised. Hey, come to the meet on the 21st!

I know what it's like not being able to do work on one's vehicle. The truck should be been WAY more done up than it is now, over 3 years later and all I can do is nip at her, but I know in time I'll get done what I want to get done, and looks like the 8 won't get any upgrades for a while either, you never know, but life sucks, what can I do. I still love them to death.

Technically you never had the V6 at all in those years, right? That being the case, there should be no set standard for an emission standard for a 1.8l V6, so you can actually probably get away with a lot more even if it has a ZE in it. To go a reputable emission tester and ask about going emissions on a car that has a motor option that wasn't available in the country you're in, from the factory.

The hard part is the inspection, they'll look for the emissions equipment. The test isn't the hard part, it's the inspection.

This car being a 96 has the newer computer and it's fuel correction is much more accurate so passing an E test shouldn't be difficult. My 96 passed easily even tho I did have a Hot Rod status letter from the Dealership. You can see the short and long term fuel trim and the O2 sensor low voltage and I read this to say my fuel is no where near rich, a common complaint with the ZE swap. http://www.mx-3.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.ph ... 0&start=15

Hmm. Meet on the 21st eh? I might be able to make it. I'm in NY next week till the 20th but my schedule's a little fuzzy after that. If If I'm back in town I'll definitely take her for one last long cruise.

But about the emissions thing... I'm not too worried about running rich; I've tuned it fairly well, I think.. It's more, my OBD-II is throwing the EGR code, because, well, it ain't there. They'll see that immediately...

And even if they ignore the code, after 5-10 minutes the NOx scanner will go off.

Note to hijack your post but I did install my EGR and I connected the coolant lines and the electrical plug and in doing so I didn't throw a code. Of course the EGR wasn't operating (no exhaust flowing) it was just there to keep that damn code light off.
