I'm planning to take both my doors apart relatively soon anyways. Getting a new PS door(hopefully I can find a GS one soon), and I want to find out why my DS window motor sucks when it's dry out. I think it has to do with the wiring, as moisture in the air would make it slightly more conductive wouldn't it? One of the dealership guys here had an Mx3 for quite a few years, he said his was screwy until he replaced all the wiring with a higher guage.
whats up with the window motor? mine always gets stuck 3/4 of the way up and i cant figure out why. if i grease the weather stripping it works fine for a few weeks but the problem always comes back.

For mine, it just goes extremely slow once it's about 3-4 inches from closed... then I have to help it up, and that has messed up my outer seal, allowing water to get into my door... I picked up a mint seal from a wrecker in town, and will put it on once I fix the window issue.

The parts guy at the dealership(old mxer) said his wiring seemed a little wimpy, so he gutted the wiring b/w the motor and the switch, replaced it with a higher guage, and it worked perfectly.

I find it odd that all the window problems people bring up are almost always DS door... not PS. :/ My passenger window is perfectly fine, as is my sunroof. Just the DS one sucks.

We can defined the all household members and every people should know where the main power switch is located in the case of an emergency such as teh fire an basement flooding in the power supply. Even thouh the it is not the required field but the most of the logical place for that the main switch is at the main panel. so the sometimes is however the main swithc is located the box and seperate of the device and separate location.

when i swapped my door i took the seal from my old door as it was in better shape. the window worked fine for a week or so then started getting stuck again. is there a special way to put the seal in the window track? the front (engine side) part of the seal that goes inside the door always comes out. ill put it in as best i can, put the window up and down 3/4 times and the seal pops out. it doesnt come out completely, still protects the glass from the metal track but it isnt seated properly. its kind of hard to explain, maybe ill take some pics tomorrow.

I haven't taken mine apart yet, I just pulled the wrecker one out of a car that was beat up. The rubber was still good, if a little faded in color. I'll let you know when I do it though :)

I would think the lubrication is wearing out. The driver's side window gets used alot more than the other, so it would wear out faster.

What lubrication do you use? White Lithium grease?

ive been using white lithium grease and it works for a few weeks then needs to be reapplied. i didnt know they came from the fabtory with lube?

this is what i meant by the track coming off, it pops out 1/4"Image

heres a video i took with the window getting stuck. this is probably the exact spot other people start to have problems aswell
http://s878.photobucket.com/albums/ab34 ... V01331.mp4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

after i reset the weather stripping it made its way to the top. it still had trouble at 3/4 but powered threw it.
http://s878.photobucket.com/albums/ab34 ... V01332.mp4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

i think the tape will help but i dont think its going to solve the problem.

Idk about the bunching it mentions. It does seem like my seal has slid a few inches, but it was like that before I got the car. Hasn't moved at all to my knowledge.

I do know that the cold affects it... this could either mean it reduces friction through moisture, or it increases the conductivity of the window wiring as I believe.

Also, if I've been driving for a long time the window will work perfectly normal, temperature aside. If I have it working great, then shut off the car and try to raise the window... It's slow as normal. I think it has to do with more power being applied b/c the car is running. If extra power gets it going properly, I can only assume that increasing the conductivity and potential for power to flow will increase the strength of the motor.

give it a try and be sure to let everyone know how it works out. im more inclined to believe its a lubrication issue but if its as easy as upgrading the wiring that would be awesome

I'll get going on that as soon as I get ahold of a wiring diagram... I might just chance it and take the door apart, but I'd prefer to have everything I might need ready before I do that.
