Seafoam on engine valves

if i'm not mistaken, it's just pure petroleum, so it disolves the gunkyness (which is just burnt oil) from the engine. since it has to chemically disolve the gunk, i recomend leaving it there as long as possible. it's like taking a stain off a shirt...the longer you leave the bleach, the cleaner it will get. lol. bad analogy???

That analogy is fine... except if you leave bleach on too long, you get a hole
I now what you're saying, though. I wonder if I could just choke the engine with gasoline, and let it sit, since gas has detergents in it.

Well.. Burnt gas, and oil blow-by. I also wonder if one could use Kerosene, white gas, brake cleaner, Acetone, etc... The final factor would be price per use (if they all work).

the problem with that is the fact that the inside of our intake manis have a special coating and leaving something too strong could mess it up and cause bigger problems later.
i've used this for the last 9 yrs and have had the same results. i'm sure something else might work, but for now, i'm sticking w it.

The only coating I know of on the intake manifold is on the throttle body, that
thin layer of sealant on the butterfly valve.

If you add this through the brake booster you bypass the TB entirely.

Yes its a pure petroleum product.

The ideal method is letting it actually stall the car out to let it sit ontop
of the valves, wait about 15-20 mins then start it up. The smoke is pretty
stinky so do this outside, go for a short drive to make sure everything is
burnt out.

i poured SOME in the gas tank, not all of it, 1/3 in motor, 1/3 in intake, and 1/3 in gas tank, like the instructions said
