Big cars can take a beating I guess. We got rear ended by a pickup truck in my buddy's Jeep Liberty and the guy took off (hit and run) and we couldn't catch him. But when we got out there was nothing, a small scratch that was buffed away.

The one thing i have to get now is the hood, as the one it has doesn't close fully and is all bent, and I can't take it on the freeway that way.

My beloved MX3 GS was victim of a car crash this evening at about 6:30PM, into the back of a van (which only suffered slight scratches). the whole front was damaged, the radiator and power steering and ac condenser are gone, as are both headlights. but th car luckily still runs. Tomorrow, I will go to the junk yard and see if I can find another GS. wish me luck
There's a post in the Buy/Sell forums where a guy in Canada is giving away a hood. :P He says it's in good condition, if i remember correctly it's silver.
Good luck, and i hope I was some help(although I doubt it).

Sorry for my ignorance, I forgot where exactly I saw it...

Congratulations getting her going again!
This reminds me of when I had a ¾ton van, and was driving somewhere, when some kids in a Honda thought nthey'd get ahead of me. It was a 3 lane road, and I am good at predicting traffic, so I just kept within 4mph of the speed limit, and switched lanes when I saw that the one I was in was going to slow down. The Honda driver kept trying to get ahead of me, in the typical ricer way; speed up in some random lane, and try to cut off whomever was in the next lane. Eventually, he got directly behind me, and was looking for a way to get around, instead of what was happening in our lane. The guy in front of me slowed down quickly to turn without using his signal, and slowed even more, because it was steep, so when I slowed down, the kid hit me. Long story short, he had damage like yours, and I buffed out a scratch on my bumper. I let him sweat for a while before I let him go without getting insurance involved.

Hah, people are dumb. I was driving my girlfriend's car(2000 ford escort) in Sacramento, and was backing out of a parking space at starbucks when I was rear ended.

I had finished reversing, and had just shifted into drive when the girl backed out of her space and clipped my bumper. She was driving an early 2000 series Toyota Celica(2000-2004) and she lost a thin line of paint on her bumper. She caved mine in from the side about 6 inches, and cracked the tail-light.

Her boyfriend got out of the car and got on my case saying I should have watched where I was going, and then when he saw that their car had little damage... he made me a "generous offer" of leaving insurance out of it. After I finished laughing in his face, I said he damn well better have insurance. I also made it clear that if he was going to make things difficult, I might have to stop by the local hospital and complain about whiplash. Needless to say I had the girl's information very quickly. They had the good sense to admit the accident was their fault too. Lucky day, eh?

best of luck. Most of the time you are SOL when it comes to backing & parking lots. Most ins companies will say both parties are at fault and there is no compensation.
Been thru this once b4.. same deal with the rear light. Ebay took was my best friend in my situation.
