I had the same interior/seats in my white mx-3 and I painted all my stuff black too. I wonder if those seat covers are OEM?

Yep. they r from mazda back in 93 frm the first owner. and have never left the seats till the other day. i start the carpet dyein 2day wit the seat covers. will take them out about tues or weds. will keep yall updated

ok, well it stopped rainin earlier so i had time to take the carpet out and wash it down with water and get most of the dye out. seat covers didnt come out like i wanted. so i may just buy sum plain black seat covers and just have the MX3 stiched instead of tryin to dye these again. but neways, heres the pics.










the carpet came out very well. i was surprised how good it came out so black. hope yall enjoy the pics.. lemme kno what yall think.

for a carpet, u have to get a 35gal trash can or tub, 8 bottles of RIT, and 2 tubes of salt, the big ones. and boil the water till it covers the carpet n let it sit for 3-4 days.

idk how it would work for other materials.

are they the polyester or cotton type ones? cotton type ones will dye easy. dk bout the polyster ones, cuz thats what my mx3 seatcover r made out of mostly and they didnt dye that good. but i also put them in there late so the water wasnt as hot as it was suppose to be.. so yes on cotton and maybe on the other. really depends on the hottest of the water. thats what helps penetrate the dye

ok, so the rain didnt stop 2day, but i decided to go ahead and take the carpet out the tub after lettin it soak all nite in clean water which wasnt so clean 2day...lol. neways i put it on top of the engine hoist and soaked it down makin sure all the dye was gone. and these r the pics i snapped after it soaked in water all nite and got hosed down.






u can see how dark it is compared to my hand...lol flash made my hand look even whiter..lol


and had to get the a-- of the Mx3 in there. =)





im gonna vacuum it out real good 2mrrw and see how it turns out. but theres a big differece between the old tan and new black, and i love it. cant wait to put the car back 2gether..lol lemme kno what u guys think

ok, so i sold my rims yesterday and decieded to take a trip to the junkyard and see if i could score anything good. and i did. =P ill let pics speak.

Sorry havent been any updates in a while. been ordering stuff so i can put this thing 2gether. i alrdy ordered:

Injector rebuild kit
GTX intake mani
Apexi Safc
Honda half rad
arp headstuds

i think thats all. but i still gotta get a knock controller and PS line and sum high pressure fuel hose. Hopefully ill be on the ball next week if weather permits it. im gonna run to the junkyard 2mrrw and get sum pedals and swap those out, and then ill start tryin to hook the engine harness and everything back 2gether and get the SAFC, AEM Wideband, and all tht good stuff wired in. So hopefully ill have sum good updated with pics next week and get this baby even closer to being complete. Thanks for reading
