Re: Chrome730's 93 mx-3 gs NEW PICS UPDATED 10/03
Just about impossible to find a low milage DE. Most wreckers here want $400+ for any engine where as you can get a low milage ZE for between 7-800 bucks. So my vote goes for ZE

i finally got some extra cash to work on the car just got back from the pick and pull and i got some goodies for my car. that i didnt have when i bought it 5 years ago. ended up buy a new center console, working ashtray, a radiator but i may not need it i just needed the support and the rubber spacers for it . i also found the trunk cover. i got the this all for about 65. i dont think that is expensive..... i still have yet to find a bumper with the reinforcement i also need to get a new valve cover gasket set. hopefully it wont take long. ill be workin on it saturday so ill be posting pics then of the new stuff as well as running my wires from the avic d3.

Perfect!
Couldn't you find a bumper at the junkyard? I don't know where you live, but in here, they have like 3 or 4 MX-3s at my local U-Pick.
Anyways, is the car running OK?

car just had a tune up last weekend and its running better i have a minor exhaust leak but i can patch that. the junkyards around me all have the bumper but there broken. i found one at another junkyard that wants to sell the bumper as a whole for 150.00 is this too expensive. or should i just suck it up just to get my car back. i think the next thing im gonna do is upgrade the brakes on it but i gotta research somethings. i heard we could use millenia brake calipers but im not sure. stopping my car would be the best thing in the world cause after all not being able to stop fast enough wrecked my car. lol

Ouch! $150 for a bumper seems like a lot. You can get an engine for that kind of money.
In my local j/y, a bumper is $30. I'd say $50 is acceptable, but $150...
I don't know about the Millenia calipers. Maybe Wyt would know...

For bumper fasteners....
There are three special type push clips that go in the mouth, on the top.
There are L shaped brackets with little screws that go from beside the headlights, down behind the bumper support
There are two screws that go from the upper corners into the fenders.
There are two of whatever-works-for-you that hold the bumper out at the bottom, against little brackets that stick out from the body. Just crawl under and look, you'll see them. They're on the corners, under the turn lamps.
