Once that is fixed, that should fix the idle issue. After I would suggest disconnecting the battery and stepping on the brake for 30 seconds to fully clear the ECU. Then drive it and see if you still get a sensor error. Most cases, the sensor is either dirty or just getting old and the electronic resistance is no longer within spec.
