Re: Some Newby KLZE Questions.
I never claimed to be good at math.......but if a V6 MX-3 weights 2532 and a 4cyl MX-3 weights 2336 then theoretically the V6 weights 196 pounds more. So if you put a V6 into a 323 it should weight 2385, (196 pounds more then it did with the 4cyl). So your 323 with a V6 now weights 2385 and the V6 MX-3 weights 2532 the difference between the two is only 147 pounds?

with a severe weight reduction you could make a mx3 as light as a 323.

Re: Some Newby KLZE Questions.
question regarding the kl-ze and purchasing it. would it be alright for me to order an engine from a JDM website and have it shipped to me or should i go and pic it up from a pull out? i just don't know how reliable the online ones are.
Re: Some Newby KLZE Questions.
If you can, go check it out your self and hand pick your engine. Pop the valve covers to be sure its KL31 Cammed ect... with KL31 Heads. This is all pretty much Common Sense..............................................superman_t11 wrote:question regarding the kl-ze and purchasing it. would it be alright for me to order an engine from a JDM website and have it shipped to me or should i go and pic it up from a pull out? i just don't know how reliable the online ones are.

Re: Some Newby KLZE Questions.
I work at a speed shop. From my experience and what I have heard from customers, It would be a good idea to pick it up (if you can). Places I have dealt with will let you do a compression check, which is not the end all, but it should help weed out the bad engines. I would only buy an engine from a reputable importer. Might not be a bad idea to just show up rather then call ahead. I used to work at an Auto Recycler and lets just say if you squirt enough oil down a spark plug hole, the compression "test" will be positive.
Most of these importers will have lots of any given engine, so if you pick it up, you may also get to pick it out. One may have less damage or more parts left on it kinda deal. It may be worth it just for the experience. Not everyday you get to see a warehouse full of cool JDM stuff.
