I cant believe there are so few options for the MX3 as far as brakes go.

To the OP check out SVT Focus rotors ;) I dont know that they have the same patern or offset but I thought I saw several escorts running Focus wheels.

The Focus knuckle apparently uses the same caliper ear spacing as the MX-6 an dmany other Ford, Mazda and Volvo cars and the SVT actualy uses Volvo calipers similar to the oners used by the Mazda 3 and tha Mazdaspeed 3 and 6.

Heres my suggestion for opening your options up like you never thought possible.

Get a set of knuckles from any of the folowing cars... 93 or later Mazda 626, 93-97 MX-6, 99 or later Mazda Protege.

The upright will need to be milled down to fit your B chassis style struts.

Use the hub from the early 4 lug 3rd gen (99+) Protege.

Now the tough choices :)

The available rotors include the stock Protege piece that I believe is in the 9" range. But since my own car came with 10.2" rotors allready I never paid much attention and I cant be sure.

I do believe it's larger than the MX3 rotor and it's definitely thicker.

Next as far as direct boltons are concerned are the SVT rotors at 11.8"

If your willing to drill a new patern into the rotors a vast array of options exist.

Starting from the next largest from the Protege rotore there are...

93-97 MX-6/Probe/626 rotors at 10.2"

98+ 626 V6 rotors at 11.1" (also used on early Mazda6's and 3's)

Late model Mazda6/3 rotors at 11.8" (same as SVT except for the lug patern)

And the Mazdaspeed 6 and 3 rotors at 12.6".

Volvo R model S60 rotors at 13"

You'll want the corosponding calipers and slider brackets for any rotor size you chose and they all bolt directly to
The GE style spindle like stock with the possible exception of the Volvo R calipers as no one has managed to get a pair yet. They are very nice Brembo 4 pot calipers btw.

That dose not begin to cover everything. there are many DIY setups documented as well as a glut of aftermarket kits in any size you could want.

Theres a 14" brake kit for Volvos that'll bolt on that has 14 piston calipers carved out of billet.
