*shakes head* dude i'm pretty sure that is the coolant or engine temp guage and that isn't even very accurate. and if that isn't the coolant/engine temp gauge then please point out where that is cause any car without that is very very very bad

That is DEFINATELY a coolant temp guage, not an oil temp. guage. The sensor taps into the water flow out of the water jackets around heads.

Are you calling me smug?

If you look at my post history, you will see that I am the furthest thing from smug. I was simply stating a fact, that that is a coolant temp gauge, not an oil temp guage. Just as sure as I'm typing on a keyboard, and not a Saxophone.

You shook your head at the guy, saying that he's probably wrong. I simply concurred with what you were saying, and did not make any implications of my being superior.

Smug? I'd say that's out of line.

Take it easy guys... The oil related gauge in the dashboard is the preassure one, right??

Maybe the point is -> why getting an aftermarket oil preassure gauge since there's allready one?...

Keep up the good vibes

As far as I know, there is no oil pressure gauge from the factory either. There are four gauges:

1) Fuel
2) Coolant Temperature
3) Vehicle speed (Speedometer)
4) Engine speed (Tachometer)

Anything other than those is an aftermarket gauge.

Aahhh....that makes sense now. I couldn't figure out why somebody would be calling me smug for my reply. It almost makes you wanna just not try to help out anymore.

I'm glad you cleared that up.
