I bought this tube called "polyurathane ultimate adhesive" and this other stuff that is black and used for roofing that dries hard yet flexible, is either one of these right?

nope, way to soft. you dont want the rear mount to move at ALL. last thing you want is the IM to do some damage to your brake booster and w/e.

best bet it to get it welded, search here or clubprotege.com there's pics on how to weld the mounts.

Isnt that the stuff that people generally use to fill mounts though? (making poly mounts) I need it for the rest of them anyway correct?

you can use that on the sides and front for sure. but for the rear one with modding it for the straight neck you want a 90% or stiffer rear mount.

so which stuff do I use to stiffen up the other mounts? The black stuff?

i guess. you can just order engine mount inserts from that zx2 site for the 1.8 escort gt. they have the same lower mounts as the mx-3. they should do the trick just fine. they're cheap too. cant remember the site ATM. but im off to bed, email me if you have any other questions X_EGT_EVO_X@msn.com

[quote="2.5mazda"]My question is, will having the DE intake manifold really lose me all that much? I switched over the fuel rails and regulator as well just in case those were different. I have heard people saying that it could even be better to use a DE over a ZE because of the torque gain, where as the ZE has more power in the higher RPM's.
I want to know bottom line, is this the biggest mistake of my life or will I be happy with the DE? Is there an honest truly noticable difference?

Which KL-DE manifold are you talking? The older vac. operated VRIS manifold or the square runner electronic manifold from the solid lifter -DE? With the older model DE manifold and some epoxy filler I'm making over 184whp with a 44lb 17" tire and wheel combo with a 33lb 15" wheel package making 197whp before I put the car into storage a couple of years ago.

thats not the secret, you can do it without raiseing the rear because it will still shift backwards and hit your resivour

YOur asking if its the biggest mistake in your life. Just use the ZE manifold for sure. Either modify that rear mount for it to fit or get a Millenia Curved neck.

Look at the comparison between the 2

it isnt all about size, but about flowrate/ velocity. I am hearing over and over that it isnt more than 8 crank HP, so I dont think I will worry about it for awhile..

Will the DE computer make it run like crap?

dude i dont see why your so fruistrated if you need your car to run NOW!!!! then just throw your stock manifold back on, really this web site is one of the most valuable keys to your car, but remeber we are now mechanics, just k series engine owners with experience, we will help you the experiences we've learned to deal with .....as far as a manifold you can use the jack strategy but if you mess up thats your brake booster .....thats $$$$$..... my advise to you is stick it out alittle longer hitching rides and get a millenia manifold trust me it will be worth it, i didnt have my car for 6 months and i know the feeling of looking at it just sitting there.......but if your gonna do something this big to your car do it right no half a*sing this through because that will only give you half a** results .........its your investment....like i said millenia manifold....or stock for now if you ask me
