seriously...have you had any experience with a rotary engine? Why are they crap? please explain.

Also, all engines should use or burn some oil and if it doesn't then I think you would have some serious issues.. I hope one day you don't a porsche, they also use oil and have to keep a close eye on the oil level.

BTW... spelling ownz you...it is rotary.

hmmmm...dont think I've ever heard of a "rotery", must be a Utah thing.

I think a good rotAry platform will help this car out alot.

...and every car will burn oil after awhile , that's even a big k-series thing with higher miles

AND the torque they provide isn't that weak.. in fact it's quite on par with most piston engines. For instance, the Celica GTS puts out 180hp/130tq.. ANY rotary except the carb'd 12a puts out a better ratio than that.

Aren't rotaries designed to inject oil to help lubrication? I remember reading/hearing something about some rx-7 owners wanting to add a seperate oil resevoir just for that.

BTW, my ZE burns oil. I have to add 1L betwee oil changes

umm rotary engines are amazing especially the new one. SOOO much potential with them and they weight nothing, and seemlessly rev higher and higher. They can build them bulletproof if they want.... Their power levels are good naturally aspirated, 3 rotors NA are a perfect example of that and its torque is equally good. If you want more torque then add

OR MAYBE your thinking of a different engine Rotery is alot different then ROTARY.

Do you ever get tired of talking out of your A$$? Successful Rotary powered cars.. hmm... How about the RX7? *Gasp* This car went through 3 generations before mazda pulled the plug on it.. which I bet everyone here will agree was a mistake on mazda's part. Oh and did you know that rotary powered cars have been banned from almost every racing sport? Do you know why? Because they beat the living crap out of conventionally powered cars. Their horsepower to weight ratio makes them perfect for racing.. and just like any engine.. the power you get out of it is directly proportional to the work you put into it.

Rotary engines only have 2 main draw backs.. They tend to be more expensive than conventional engines and they tend to wear out quicker than conventional engines. But.. that was the rotary engines from the 70's, 80's & 90's. Technology has advanced to a point where they can make the Wankels much more efficient and durable.

Oh and since you have never been for a ride in a car with a built rotary, maybe you should just save your presumptous opinions. There was a video floating around a while back of a twin turbo RX7 that was making 650 HP. The speedometer was moving so fast upwards that everyone thought it was a tachometer. Comparing a V8 to a rotary is like comparing apples to oranges. Its a biased comparison on your part since you like V8's so much. How much does your V8 weigh? How much does the car its in weigh? Ahhh.. see thats where the different perspective is.. Mazda doesnt need to put out a engine that has to move so much weight. So they save weight be using the rotary to begin with. And they put it in a lighter car.

You know what? I just realized I am just wasting my time here and your not worth it in the slightest. Sell your mazda and go get a mustang.

I'm sure it's rotary....Mazda has invested too much money for it not to be. Nice looking car though.
