Yeah.. let me spend the same amount of cash on my MX-3 as you are spending on that Mustang and I would gladly smoke that cookie cutter wannabe car. Its cool that you like that car.. and I am not saying it isnt a nice car.. but for the cash spent.. thanks.. I'll keep my MX-3 and make a down payment on a house too.

official_style wrote:the mustang is a completely different car. my mx-3 had a klze in it, with intake headers no cats and 2.5" exhast. that thing was like a geo metro compared to the mustang. the mazda had eibach prokits, and tockio blues, and 17x7s. my mustang currents rolls on 18x10s all around and is not lowered. it handles much better than the mazda. the rear axle is not a problem since it has a panhard bar. i have a kenne bell 2.4l blower about to go on, the car will have about 450rwhp once that is in. you really cannot compare them. the mx-3 was also a pain cuz of the body kit, was wayy to low for where i live, but that was my own fault. i highly recommend test driving a s197 mustang GT. it is a completely different car than the sn-95/new edge mustangs. the mazda suspension also went thru sway bar links all the time, maybe this was because i had thicker mazdaspeed ones in it. the mustang is a much more solid car, but it is heavier. still, i wanna know whats up with my mazda, i hope its still alive! i sold it to a kid who was like 18, and i belive it was his first car. if anyone has seen it, lemme know, last i know it was in mass. and anyone who wants to run me, lemme know :D
but its ugly haha

Umm, that can be said about any car. Its like saying that the Enzo is a POS because you can put $600,000 down on a CRX/MX3/V8 instead of spending it on a Enzo

And as for the rest of the Mustang hate goes, all I got to say is, there is always jealous haters
Like Kayne West says,
"There'll always be haters, that's the way it is
Haters marry hater bitches and have hater kids"

You misinterpret what I am saying.. and from the look of it.. you have your own bias as well. I am not the one saying my MX-3 is faster or better. He is the one daring people to race him. And while I did point out that his car is much like any other mustang out there... I am not dissing his car specifically.. just the terminology I used was less than scientific. His car is a nice car. But it cost how much? I have spent less than $2200 on 2 MX-3's now.. I could spend 1/2 what he spent on that mustang on my GS and be able to run with him.. not even going to say I would win for certain in this post simply because you seem to disagree.. there is always someone faster... But if someone bought a Ferrari and came in here asking if anyone wanted to race them with an MX-3.. yeah.. I would respond the same. Waste of money. His mustang depreciated more than $2000 off the blue book value the moment he drove it off the lot. To me.. buying a vehicle that suffers instant depreciation is idiotic. Does that mean it isnt a nice car? No. But its not something I would ever buy.. at least not new. This is just my opinion and I dont expect anyone else to agree with me. I could win a billion dollars tomorrow and I still wouldnt spend that kind of cash on a brand new car. I enjoy working on my cars, I enjoy making them valuable to ME not to anyone else. If you like that mustang so much.. sell your MX-3, go to college, get a job where you can make enough money to buy your own brand new mustang.

To me.. making a car your own and unique is what makes them valuable. Eventually, if not already.. his mustang is valuable to him. He likes it and thats all that matters. But if he is going to dump on the MX-3.. well.. he shouldnt do it on a MX-3 forum. And when he does.. he should expect MX-3 fans to be defensive.

Nearly 15 years technology, 2 more cylinders and more than twice the displacement. I wouldn't call that very fair.

One of the MOCA members used ot have a car alot like that, but he is alot older than 18 and lives in GA. He may have bought it from your buyer though. It is hard to tell since a Teal MX-3 with the FX body kit is not exactly rare.
PS, Mike flipped his car trying to keep up with me and a 250 WHP BPT MX-3. Lost controll and flipped it over the lip of a 5' drain pipe. Landed upside down in a 8' deep ditch about 30' from the drain top. He crawled out and was fine. Amazing!!

Brava!!

I always hear people saying if they won the lottery, they'd by a brand new car, but I always respond about this way. You don't need a new car. I'd rather have something like my mx...She's been abused, but I'm looking forward to babying her and fixing her up. I'd rather put money into loving my car than to spend all that money plus way more to buy a new car.

might want to try looking on cardomain in the state it was sold... that might help find it...
..i like the new mustangs way better than the 90's ones.... but still not a huge fan.. nice car though

oh and i'll take you on when i get my engine and awd system finished in the mx-3... should be about a month or two depending on how long it takes to find all the parts and get the bugs tweaked... fully built high compression boosted bp mated to the GTR AWD system.... gutted and hopefully with lexan hatch window.... should give your mustang a hardcore run on the autox track... let me know when you are in chicago and i'll be happy to take you on :)

to clear it up, i was not dissing the mx-3, i loved mine when i had it. now as far as the mustang depreciating when i drove it off the lot, YOU ARE WRONG..... i got the car pretty much right when it first came out, i paid under window for it. i had people offering me 5 grand over window constantly for it. i would not sell it because i wanted the 1st year of the only completely new mustang since the fox. its been over a year now and 06s are out, so mine is worth less. HOWEVER, the 1st year of the 3rd gen mustang will hold its value down the line. the previous mustang, fox, sn-95 and new edge were all based on a frame basically from 1979. look at how much a 1964 and 1/2 mustang is worth today. i didnt buy it as an investmet tho. i actually think for the price its a great deal, compared to what else you can get for under 30grand. dont get alll defensive dood i still like mx-3s and check them out when i see them. im gonna see if i can find mine on car domain. the blower should be on within a couple months, then i gotta do some rear suspension crap so it will hook. that AWD gtr setup sounds dope, i didnt even know that was availible!
