It will be cheaper than a turbo I believe in the long run. Flip through a few of the threads in the link. You'll be able to draw your own conclusions. IMO, Autocrossing means on and off the throttle - a lot. That said, a SC will have the quicker reponse to acceleration demands over a turbo. Flat out drags, I'd say turbo may be the better option.

The kit will come from here;

i see the boost start droping at 6900 rpm 7 psi to 5 rpm, so i agree with you on the drag opion, but i have mine already done, so i am not changing for a turbo

well i suppose if you had a driveshaft, the rest would be almost simple

After a certain amount of boost, be it supercharged or turbocharged your stock motor wont take anymore.
actually a turbo on a STOCK motor is worse than a supercharger on a stock motor. the turbo creates alot more heat and that is a killer on the berrings and seals, and will where out the motor sooner. espically if youru running on the lean side.
a super charger is alot more responsive than a turbo will ever be, and is more reliable. a supercharged KL would be real nice.

I have heard of Eaton M62 SuperChargers going for $3000 (US).
Try the
http://www.mx6.com forums aswell
Here is a little thread I made a while ago

DrBrown:
if you had a nice exhaust including headers, catback, highflow cat, supercharger & tuned well with some sort of EMS you could make 230whp on 7psi. But certainly not on an M45. Better go with a m62 or some kinda of vortech/paxton style compressor to get that much power. If if you want to be real cool and special make blower than can mount to the intake ike a TKT kit or top mounted with some crazy belt fabrication and a hood scoop haha. But just as an example there was a PGT in Turbo Magazine that made 235whp and 275trq with a vortech compressor running 8psi with headers and exhaust.
He also has a FAQ on turbo's in his sig
http://www.designbydan.com/probe/turbo.html
I dont know if ay of this will help you but it might give you some ideas.
So as some of you say, a turbo is better at the 1/4mile but not Auto X. How much better is a turbo on a KLZE better then a S/C on a KLZE at the 1/4mile? Is there really a huge difference. I like having torque and good down-low power, if I was just to race at the 1/4mile, wouldnt it be better to race with a S/C?
I know it takes power to make power on a S/C, what kind of gains should a KLZE make with a S/C at 6PSI?

You'll probably hear all sorts of stories and prices. Here's another - Got mine off of ebay from a company the at rebuilds/referbishes SC's. Basically I have a new M62 SC for less than $500 total. After thorough research you'll be able to determine which is the best direction to go. I myself don't need to focus on 1/4 mile times since my car is used 99.99999% of the time on the road and not the track. Had my car been reserved exclusively for use on the track than I would focus my attention there. 1/4 mile times would merely be a small guide or reference tool to finding overhaul best application/purpose/use. We all drive our cars on public roads under various city/highway conditions. Wouldn't it therefore be wise to research/query information regarding the application to this type of driving? I don't know, but it makes plain sense to me. To that end I viewed that SC'ing was the best route for me since it's a clutch type SC, meaning not continually fulltime - therefore more fuel efficient when required - less operational use of SC when not required - less heat generated - less ancilliary parts required - cheaper to install - and I believe less maintainance intensive than Turbo. These are the main reasons for me. 1/4 mile stuff is only tertiary compaired to the big picture for overall general purpose use. Another big determining factor for me was the lack of need to change any internals of my ZE and that I would be completely comfortable with a boost of 6 to 7 lbs resulting in approximately 260-280hp. Which is more than enough of a grin factor for me while being confident enough that I'm not going to have parts departing the engine prematurely. Not needing an intercooler while under 6-7psi was also an added plus.
Try to look at the other benefits / reasons for needing/wanting a SC or turbo as far as how it fits into everyday life. After that, the decision should be simpler and easier to live with.

I don't believe the 2.3L engine will fit, nor will it give the extra hp as compaired to a turbo'd/SC'd ZE/DE or a BPT for that matter. I do however have the Millennia injectors.

Holy crap, $500 for a rebuilt S/C?
Did you have to get any extra things?
You got a link to this company? I need to get a hold of them...
