Huh... I saw a chineese man on some cheep tv channel with something like that in a wind tunnel to show it off...

here's what i can remember from the chineese man + my thoughts:

Better gas mielage? BULL SHEAT! If it spins the air to get more in the engine you gonna lose gas mielage... Turbo your car with a real turbo, do you gain 20mpg NO you lose like 5-10mpg, if it does add power you will lose like 2-4ish mpg depending on how you drive :-P

Installing more than one for more power? WAIST, you can only get something so effiecint before its pointless to try anymore. If one of these things tornados the air enough to give power than two would possibly degrade the already made tornado from the first in the path

up to 30hp? maybe at like 9billion rpm. This only makes the air being pulled into your engine a bit thicker, doenst make the engin pull more. I bet you would see less gain doing this than swaping a stock intake for a cold air intake

ive seen a motorized one of these that sucks so much air at the hit of a button that it could hover... that i think cost the same amount of cash... i wouldnt wase any money on this, MAYBE the motorized one...

my 2 cents...

Please look at the original posting - Has anyone tried this?

Post by mhouston »

Hey guys. well i was happy i found a posting on the subject as i was very curious. But it seems nobody has replied to what the first guy wrote when he started this thread. He asked for results based on someone who has actually bought this thing or something similar and tried it out! but it appears nobody has, and everyone has just blasted this thing down as another gimic without any facts.
Anyway, i'm an engineer and have studied a lot in fluid physics and combustion, and i know that swirling flows are very conducive to enhanced combustion efficiency. This device doesnt increase the mass flow into the engine, it just adds a swirl, which leads to better mixing. Like everyone else i'm doubtful it would give 20% increased efficiency or anything near that, but i am open-minded and would like to hear from anyone who has actually tried this... anyone? 2% increase or less would be more what i would expect.

this can all be put to sleep if anyone is able (and willing to spend the cheese) to dyno their car before this "turbonator" is installed and after installing it.

Yeah all this time and still no results, just guesses. I mean no one knows for sure until it is tested...

Side note: I'd laugh my a-- off if (and I mean IF) it actually works as claimed.

Also, I saw an infomercial on this product and they Dyno tested it and the results were pretty decent. Some higher then others and some lower then others but overall decent...if the tests were actually real non-scripted test. They did have an EPA "official" there to confirm the results.

popular mechinacs tried out the turbonator / the magnetic fuel thing that jc whitney and some other "fuel savers" and through all the tests they found no significant affects on horse power or fuel consumption but deffinantly said that ones like the tubonator can possibly damage the car
