If a KL31/KL36 ECU is not on the horizon for the next little while then the only realistic alternative that is very do-able would be to retain your KL02 VAF and go to the J/Y and source from an MX6/626 and maybe even a Millennia, a KL01 ECU. Hopefully you won't get raped on that. Maybe you could swing one for 20-30 bucks. This set-up would definitely get you by until you acquire the right ECU.
