Well if you acculy get this done, and it looks good, and the quality is good, i'm sure your gonna have ALOT more than 2 orders. You should maybe think of getting a shop to sell it, like pakifier. That'ed be cool. Or you could seel the idea to the guys who make the kit for the supra? Never know...i think this is defantly going somewere.

bumper just about finished, hood as well

Post by marsinner »

update,

Finished the bumper, cut in the holes for sideblinkers, and the fog lights.
Still some tweaking and a little more fibreglass before sanding.

I decided to do a hood , since iwanted the scoop to blend in better with my air vents, thats done as well, just sanding. Moving onto the side fenders to finish by the weekend.

Let me know what u guys think, I changed the design of the bumper from the original, to more aggressive with no huge indent in the center. I like this better.

Im trying to get this car as clean as possible without having it full of insane lines all over the place, sorta like the infiniti.

yes, i explained it earlier in the post the technique i used. I tried foam, I tried sheetmetal, Fleece and resin, and I tried fibreglass Cloth. They all work, but i like this way better, and its easier to work this way.

plus u have to make sure to finish the job, cuz if u start ure doing to FUK up ure car so u have to finish it.

The easiest way to build it is on the car, so have a week or 2 where u dont have to drive it.

The front end looks like a Chevy Cavalier.

I liked the other one better.

You say that, yet your design inspiration is the Abflug Supra... which, get this, has insane lines all over the place.

Thats what makes the kit so wild-- the insane lines and body shapes.

No doubt AtlantaMX, But Obviously due to the shape and lines on our cars and doing it all by hand, it wont be exactly the same, and that was only an inspiration, things always change along the way....

as to progress, its progress daily man, it takes a long time to do things. I ran out of screws, so I couldnt get the hood pinned down all the way, I should have the hood and most of the bumper sanded by sunday,at least hoping, as for painting, not sure, i still want to do the rest of the kit before I think about it.

And money is adding up!.fibreglass strand is expensive

If I have to choose between the two, I'd say the one on the left too

Personally I think you're going to lose a lot of what makes the MX-3 an MX-3, but that's just my opinion. It will definitely be a unique one, and I'm interested to see it finished. I have a lot of respect for the work you're putting into it.
