A quick question about the BP throttle body. I know it will bolt up to the BPT but with the TPS on it be variable i.e. 0-5v and everythign in between. Instead of the mx-3 one which is 0 or 5v and nothing inbetween.

in order to get the variable one you will need a throttle body off an automatic instead of a standard.. The automatic cars have a variable throttle body.. Thats where I got my sensor from.

Franko, Since the manual has a 3 wire setup and the automatic has a 4 wire what do you do with the 1 extra wire? im really looking into the idea of a bpt ecu on my b6t. what else would need to be changed in ored to get the bpt ecu to work on the sohc wiring harness?

It too me a while to figure out what that extra wire does but after pain staking hours of searching and trial and error it turns out that the wire is for 5 volt input. It is actually quite simple where you connect it once you know where it is.. The extra wire should be a green wire with a red stripe and it SPLICES into terminal 2K on the ecu.. its another green wire with red stripe. You dont cut that wire completely off because its for your airflow meter you just connect into it.

 Now dont forget that if you change the throttle body those settings may need to be ajusted.. I am not too sure if it will be that different.

as far as i know, the 4 wire tps has the extra wire for an idle signal. when you are at and idle it tells the computer the ECU has a different mode. i know thats sorta how they did it in toyotas so im not 100%

The extra wire is for 5v input that the tps needs.
