Okay Everyone, since the date is getting closer, here is the battle plan.

We'll be meeting at Canada Olympic Park at 12:45pm and probably depart around 1:30pm for the Bow Valley area. Several other Mazda groups are using this same area to meet before hitting the road, so it should be quite the massive convoy of Mazdas going to Bow Valley.

After the Mazda in the Mountain event. The Protege group is planning a cruise through the mountains. Anyone wanting to join them is more than welcome to.

Sounds awesome! Looking forward to this one since there seems to be quite the buzz around the other boards about this. About meeting at COP though.... LOL, all these years I've never actually stopped there. Driven past it many times on my way out to Banff or even Calaway as a kid, but never once stopped at COP. Where's my turn off that I need to take from 16th Ave to get to COP?

Regarding this cruise the Protege guys are "planning". I couldn't get a lot out of reading through the thread as to what they want to do. So what do you know about it, Wyldside? Cruise through what locations and for how long?

And like he said, the date's getting closer. Maybe we should start a roll call as to who's going..... Kinda curious to see if this is going to be primarily an Alberta event or if we're going to see a modest turn-out from BC MX-ers as well. :D

I don't know how you can miss the COP turn-off but anyways.... When driving on 16th AVE / TC HWY #1 West, turn South on Bowfort RD SW and then right on Canada Olymipic Drive. Then just look for a parking lot full of Mazdas getting ready for a roadtrip. I don't know what they have planned for the cruise after the MITM 2005 Meet. I think they are just playing that part by ear. Glen from the Protege Club (FunkyBuddha) will most likely be the one who plans that out.

BTW, I saw you and your Silver Miata friend cruising down Hwy 24 (past Cheadle) a couple weeks ago.

LOL, I'm sure it really isn't hard to miss in actuality. It's just that I've never looked for that turn off. Thanks for the directions anyway, just to keep things simple. :D

Oh, and who are you referring to in the "you and your Silver Miata friend"? I haven't been down Hwy 24 in ages.

Edit: Chiggles - Will (95 Creek Blue GS) <-- forgot to leave my name the first time. :P

Dunno if I'm gonna make it down for this anymore... woke up this morning and threw up first thing. Shivering like crazy even though it's like 24º out. Hopefully it's just a bad stomach flu I can shake off over the next couple of days.

Oh, and Vince won't be going either. He said he's out camping at Sylvan all weekend.

The rest of you 4 still in on this, I assume? Does anyone have an idea of what the overall turnout is going to be? It looks like we got 4 or 5 of us going from here. How many other Proteges, Miatas, RX7s, etc. going?

That sucks. Hopefully it's just the 24Hour Flu. I don't know how many people from each group are going but I could give rought estimates.

Aprox:

15 - 20 Proteges
3 - Mazda 3
1 - Mazda 6
8 - RX7
4 - RX8
5 - Miatas
1 - 626
3 - MX-6
6 - MX-3
1 - Mazda 5

And here they are! :)

http://darcy.imgaming.com/gallery/mitm2005

Those were the 5 MX-3s that stuck around. Jackie and her brother left earlier, so we had a nice showing of MX3s there. Very impressed and glad to see everyone come out that could.

Had a great time, but next time hopefully we can come prepared for the nice weather and a longer stay. doh!

Great pics Darcy. Too bad Candis couldn't make it. I can't beleive you took one when I had my arms full! Camera in the mouth, baby in one arm, and trying to drop my hood! :o It was a good afternoon.

Here's a top on the Protege site with pictures from Glen (Funkybuddha). I'll be using some of these on our site.
