Re: Comments on the 6th annual Mississauga meet
No...the Miataphiles organized MOM. At the meet they had suggested another Club take on the responsibilities of MOM 2004, so our team and our executives will be discussing this at our next officer's meet. If we do decided to take on this responsibility, we will be sure to include representatives from all Mazda clubs in the GTA.

Re: Comments on the 6th annual Mississauga meet
i am more then willing to lend a helping hand...
seeing as how i am going to do a bpt swap
and am looking forward to being one of the top 5 mx's in toronto or even ontario and maybe more one day...
as a suggestion woodbridge is rammed full of cops and its becoming more and more of a hassle to go there...
Brampton is just as good... i find it to be what woodbridge can never be...
a suburban racers heaven...
less then 5 min from where i frequently hang out..
Peter Robertson and Dixie Tim Hortons Just off Bovaird
there are an uncountable amount of strips to race..
and its an Amazing environment everyone is buddy buddy.. wheither it be the guys wit the 5.0 mustangs straight piped to the civic square backs wit no cat's...
One thing is certain more dedication is needed and i for one am new to the scene and have only had my mx-3 for 2 months or so but i kno it inside and out and its my baby.
So u can count me in on any events, meets, or get togethers...
and even as a goto guy...
well hope my 2 cents helps
Peace Out

Re: Comments on the 6th annual Mississauga meet
Hate to break it to you Kevin but
1) I have had friends that come from Brampton in my Tiburon group and they said the Brampton is insane busy with cops, espically with their 9 undercovers.
2) This board dosen't promote street racing in any way shape or form, if you wanna race then you take it to the track plain and simple.

Re: Comments on the 6th annual Mississauga meet
Pearl-JapSpec we get togethor at meet to look at each others car and talk about them and help each other out NOT TO STREET RACE if that the kined of meet you want take it to the track im sure you could get a bunch of us togethor one weekend and cruise down to the track and spend a day racing it dosnt cost much and it would be a good day event they have barbaque stands there and everything you need you could count me in for that. But keep it of the streets dont need to see anymore news about a mx3 involved in street racing when i turn the tv on.
YP5 Toronto yet me know im more then willing to help out and set things up on this side of the fence. PM me on what you guys are doing for DKN im allways looking for a group to be with very small numbers on this group that do shows so im always by my self would love do be with a mazda group.

Re: Comments on the 6th annual Mississauga meet
mrspanky79 ....we had 20+ cars at DKN last year...and I think we are going to match that this year. We will have a section, with a tent...seats...registration table and lots of "drinks". I don't see why you can't join us....its all good. When we set up though....(don't take this the wrong way) we try to come up with a setup that makes sense (colour, style, etc). So....don't take it the wrong way if you are not at the center of the "formation"
I will keep you posted on the details. We usually meet up together in the early mornings and then drive up together.

Re: Comments on the 6th annual Mississauga meet
all these posts are ofically off topic.
but anyway,
BUG$Y, I have tried to set up trips to the dyno and drag strip on a coupple of occasions, and nobody responded, if it was because you guys dont like me thats fine, but nobody else ever posted about going to the track or dyno.
I would think that all 6 of your buddies would like to go to the dyno to find out how nuch power they are putting down.
Now that dave has his turbo in his car we will probably be going some time soon.
....
Last year (around JAN 2002) I noticed the simmilarites between the 2.5 in the MX-6 and the 1.8 in the MX-3 and I wondered if a swap was posible, I searched the net and found out about Luc st.p and vaughn N. as well as MX-3 .com.
There was some info but not alot on the KLZE swap but I decided to do it anyway. in april I had the engine and a week later I got my car. It took a month to wait for my computer from cork sport so I went on MX-3.com to meet people, a few people tried to set up some local meets but only about 2-5 people would show up, evey meet was set up by a different person and it was always in a different location, Mr.spanky and Andrew both complained about the lack of people showing up. But there was lots of people asking for meets??? The first meet I went to (in my red 86 feiro GT) only about 5 of us showed op, me, spanky, andrew, dvh and one or 2 other guys.
After I finished my car I wanted to have meets with other people, but they always fell apart at the last min. because they were never planed well and people were busy.
I met MAZDAGIRL on this board because she had a proble with her car and I offered to help her. So I posted that she would be at my shop on sunday while I fixed her car and everyone was welcome to come and hang out, we had about 5 cars show up, and we agreed that it was fun and we needed to organize some regular meets.
I belive it was 1 week later that I posted that I was going to be at the tims parking lot in woodbridge every sunday around 6:00- 9:00 and people were welcome to come if they wanted to.
the first week I was alone.
The seconed week I couldnt make it but MAZDAGIRL and MAZDASPEED STEVE both came out, The next week about 4 people came out and it eventually got to about 5-8 cars would come out every week.
STEVE DROVE FROM GUELPH EVERY SUNDAY to have out with us(ned4spdse drives from niagra falls about 2 time a month).
So EVERY week I would post in the meets section of the board that there would be a meet on sunday night and ask who was gonna come out. go to the meets section and select view all posts, go back to july or aug 2002 and look you will see my posts evey week.
the people at the meets kept saying that we should start at T.O. club like the B.C. ottawa, and quebec clubs, and that we should have a web site, so ANDERW took the time and made a web site for the T.O. club.
befor the web site and club, the meets were open to all MX-3's to show or not show as they pleased, all I asked was that if you posted you were gonna come that you showed up. I wasnt a club then just a bunch of people meeting each other and hanging out.
when the web site and club started, I think people started to join for no good reason. If you want to come out to a meet once a year then just come, why do you feel it nesecssary to join a club, the web site does almost nothing right now. The club was intended for thoes of us that wanted to come out every week and start to organise, it was a way to gauge intrest in the club and to see if people wanted to do club events (cruses, trips, shows, track events)
as it sits now, we have members that live in florida(or so Im told) this is crap, if you want to show up on 1 sunday in september, then just show up, keep reading MX-3 .com's T.O section, find out when the next meet is and just show up when ever you feel like, we are very laid back and welcome everyone (except Imarran)(Im a bastard) There is NO benifit to joining the T.O. MX-3 club's web site, its basicly only there to list the members names.
If you are not interested in meeting every week or every other week then ther is no reason to join the T.O. club. every thing we do is posted here and on the T.O. club site, everyone is welcome to come. If that meens that the web site will only list 8 names then at least we will know who is really interested, and the rest of the MX'ers will know who and how many people will be showing up on a regular basis.
Right now it looks like we have an awsome club, but we still only have 8 regular people at out meets, so when a new person comes out expecting 50-100 club MEMBERS AT A CLUB MEET and there is only 5 cars, they think we are dumb and gay.
I missed the ottawa trip because I had to pay my rent insted of going on the trip, I missed the annual meet because I like my job and I had to work, I dont think I ever posted that I would be at annual meet for 100% because I knew my schedual changes alot and I may have to work.
People talk the talk, but not to many walk the walk, Jeff wanted some place for people to share their love of the MX-3 so HE made THIS web site,
I wanted to meet other people that were interested in the MX-3 in my area so I started haveing open meets EVERY SUNDAY NIGHT, andrew wanted a T.O. club web site so HE made one.
It would seem that there are a coupple of little groups of MX'ers that meet on a regular basis, yet I havent seen any postes about there meets, is it that they dont want anyone else to come out? if you have a group of 3-5 friends that meet regular and you have a good place then all of you should come out one sunday and we can all take a cruse to your spot and check it out for our selves.
Again, if you want people to come out you have to KEEP posting and posting, dont give up after 1 or 2 weeks.

Re: Comments on the 6th annual Mississauga meet
well said curt, I was even thinking of throwing a show/meet up in my neck of the woods and i would be happy if 15 cars show. People have to remeber it takes time to get thing up and going and to big numbers. As you can see from older members of the board that the number are huge comparied to when the board first started. Also we are dealing with a car that is not made no more and was never put out in big numbers so your not going to get the numbers that other car clubs get and i was a part of this group before I signed up on the board (didnt have the net for the first year) and i can say alot of the people that stared the ball rolling are no longer with the group so as we loose people we have to fill those spots if we want to keep the ball moving and that also takes time.
