That still seems too slow. My old 93 Sentra XE could do a 9.2 0-60, and the GS was made to compete against SE-R. I seem to remember the GS being a couple tenths behind the SE-R. 9.2 for the GS sounds more like its 5-60 time, not 0-60.

that one is better sorted and reads easier too.

Ummm, no. That's even more confusing because it lists 3 different 0-60 times for the Sentra SE-R, when all three years Sentra SE-R listed are all exactly the same car with the same engine, same power, same tranny, etc. So it makes me wonder what the source is for that 9.2 second listing. I know when I used to read the Chicago Tribune car reviews, they always had much slower 0-60 times than Car and Driver, but I believe thier usual test condition did not allow for launching at high RPM and spinning wheels. So on all these dumb charts, you can't compare apples to apples unless you know all the original sources and thier test conditions. I'm fairly confident I can hit 60MPH in the low 8's right now, though, no problem. I've driven cars that do it in the 9's and my car is marginally faster.

Meh, i give up. Yes pending source the times may vary. I dont really care. Just someone asked for the information and when posting mutlipe sources no one has enough pride to swallow up that there car might be slower than they think, I think its time for some beer

A lot of it does go back to how the person launches. I am sure you could get it lower if you launch from 6k

Well, as I understand it, that's how major magazines like Road and Track test is under high RPM launch, with slight wheel spinning. This is always the way that I've considered the 'standard' way to test 0-60.

Yeah its a good way.
Also pending what Country the car is from it will affect the time as well. Given some models should be lighter than others. The US spec bumpers tend to add weight to a car.
My brothers GS can be launched from 6k on street tires, on the street=]. On the track we do it off the rev limiter.

only true on some cars. when i had my evoVIII i could launch at 7k rpm and get a great 60 foot, AWD. now i have a 350z, i was so used to the evo that the first time i launched my Z i got throttle happy and jumped to like 6k, it was like i was doing a burnout. but ive never driven a stock mx3 so the horsepower of the car is a big difference. youre right about a little wheel spin being ok, but the higher you go the more you get.

how do you do that? i've got a 5spd gs and have gone over 7k(maybe 100-200 over) before but the needle kept on going, so i let off....it was as if there was no limiter.
am i just a wuss?
