The ZX2 struts should drop you about a 1/2 inch or so. The Escort DZ's don't sit properly in stock MX-3 struts (struts are too long), getting ZX2 struts will not only drop your car a little more, but it will handle much better.

The reason that you are bouncing around like crazy is because the dampers (which have 0 support from springs) are resting on a rubber bushing called a 'bump stop.' The purpose of the bump stop is to minimize the harshness of the damper bottoming out due to potholes, large bumps, worn spring, etc. You're car's dampers are currently compressed to the point of bottoming out (when the car is at rest). Now, when you're driving and you hit a bump in the road, the bump stop (which is the only 'soft' material between the road and your frame now)compresses and springs back to it's origional shape. Think of it as a bouncing ball. You'd probably have a better ride if you welded a solid metal bar in place of the entire strut assembly. :freak:

save yourself the trouble...go out and get some eibach or suspension technique springs and tokico, mazdaspeed, kyb gr-2, or some e-spec kyb super struts and youll be happier than ever.
