UPDATE Oct 3/03:
Spider-webs are a pain in the *** to stencile...so after several trial and errors, I gave up and just decided to do a logo on my valve cover with the KLZE emblazened on it.
Click my link to page 3 to see it or if someone could post it here I'd be more than gratefull. I made a custom MAZDASPEED stencil that I'm going to use on the IM later. enjoy

no sooner did this pic get posted and I satarted re-doing the whole thing. The more I looked at it the more I hated it. So I am once again starting over.....same font but a little smaller....going to read V6 DOHC 24V. the IM will read MX-3 in the same font....I do like the way the red looks on the silver.

im sorry i posted the pic :crying:

To give my opinion though, I think you need to beef up the font a little. It looks good, and its a good font but it needs to be more bold and more in your face to match the mazda. I dont really like how it is so skinny it looks like pencil writing...

Cant wait to see the new design

I love the font....but space is at a premium. Due to the detail in the letters making them too bold would render them illegible. Too thin and the stencil breaks when I'm cutting. I'm beginning to think I can pull off the spider webs afterall, but it's very difficult. I don't want cartoon looking webs....but I don't want to pay a pro to do it either.

UPDATE OCT 4:
I just got an email from SiN Customs in the GTA. I guess they saw some pics of my engine and like where I was going with it and the head artist is offering to proffesionally airbrush/powdercoat a spyder-guy themed VC and IM for me at a sponsors rate. I know I know I said I dislike the idea of sponsorship....but this may be a good opportunity. I don't want to jynx anything either so I'll just wait and see how this plays out.

Hey Darren, Eric at SiN Customs did a powdercoated IM and VC for me with a custom "lightning storm" effect. He did the IM and VC black, and airbrushed on dark gray storm clouds all over it, and then had silver lightning bolts ripping down the IM onto the VC and one of the bolts illuminates the "Mazda" on the Valve Cover.

Eric was really great to work with and he also offered to Port and Polish for me... I declined cuz I had got in a fender bender and didn't have the extra $$, and he port and polished the IM for me for free!

I hope you work with him, cuz they did a very good job, and I am really happy with what they did for me
