Re: To those who keep saying use the search function
Hey I think every one has a good point, I use the search function all the time, it is alot easier then asking about s--- because you get instant answers, like yesturday i was thinking about a new paint job so i was like hey i should search that on the forums, so i did and found like 10 different threads about people asking about pricing of paint and pleanty answers, so i just think there should be more information about ways to find stuff, ill admit ive never read the rules and i never plan too, and that little search button isnt the most noticable thing, so maybe adding somehting to the faq section, like a "new users important info" or something like that? its just a suggestion, but ya gotta know that most people have never used a message board before so they dont really think about things like searching.
Re: To those who keep saying use the search function
Just bringing up one more relvent point: Sometimes peoples basic questions go unanswered for a while because no one wants to tell them to search, then these people who asked the redundant question get angry because no one responds to them.<P>There's no easy solution (that I see). FAQs help, & the moderators do a great job of moderating, but in the end, you've got a bunch of people who are going to do what they want to do & a lot of them are fustrated at their car because of this or that problem. Also there's some truth to the stereotype about people who are into cars being alpha types.<P>You can't controll everybody. You can't make everybody read the FAQs & have a basic understanding of cars. You can't make everybody nice, and some people are going to get miffed just because they wan't to feel like victims.<P>You can chose to be part of a comunity & try to improve it by improving yourself. You can learn about the things that interest you, and help others who want to learn.<P>Thanks

i think searching is great, almost every problem has probly been answered on here at least once, if you need to find info quick, just search instead of waiting all day for people to reply.

I am not telling people not to search, I am not TELLING them anything. I am asking all the "veterans" to lighten up on the newbies. Sometimes you just don't have time in your schedule to sit on the board and search. Sometimes it is easier to post a ? and have someone answer it when they can. It's not cus they're lazy and don't want to, just that they can't. I do agree that this is a GREAT source of information on the MX-3, and that alot of problems have been solved previously. But that's no reason to be a jerk to others. My feelings.
