I still haven't advertised my 95 and it's pretty much mint. If you decide to go that route PM me and I'll do a deal on it for you. One way or the other Bon Chance with yours.

onlytrueromeo wrote:Wait wait - how do you know how bad the rust is? You haven't pulled the carpet yet. Don't go to extremes until you need to! I had a 6" rust hole, but it was the ONLY rust hole on the car (well, except a small one beneach pass. side door) and I got it fixed at a body shop for $150.

If your frame rails are good, and its just body rust in a couple spots, you can fit it!
I'll post up some pics. I am going to take her apart anyway and take a look, but I'll post up some pics when I get a chance.

Haha, oh I know we're good ;) Ya, I'm anxious to get her on the road. I miss having a small, nimble and powerful car. I miss racing, I miss the shows and hanging out with you guys

Hehe, ya, I know of yours. If I do get another mx-3, it's going to be one that's mint underneath, literally. I'll need to get it painted back to my color anyway.

So who is that guy taking the engine out. That efinitly doesn't look like you.

Take the engine apart for rebuild or are you starting off with another one? I wouldn't mind seeing if this engine did burn a valve and how bad it is. lol

Haha, no, that's my dad. I'm working on the Mx-3 in my grandmothers garage. It's not the ideal spot, but it's the best I've got. I don't know how long the car will be down for so I didn't think it would be a good idea to take up space in my parents garage, especially since we do use it...he's currently working on upgrading a utility trailer he made from scratch a few years ago but the suspension we got from my mom's friend's boyfriend suck, it kept bottoming out even without a load. ANYWAY, i went home to ask about a chain I could use for the hoist, but he wanted to come. I was thinking about making it a father-son project, but historically we never worked well together, but we've found common ground when I started working on the Mx-3, but he's mellowed alot since the accident and we actually get along quite well now. I'm actually painting the fenders and his indestructable light mounts for his trailer.

I'm more likely going to work with the block I have now, unless I find something that indicates otherwise. Actually I am taking apart the motor so I can see what went on inside. Next time I work on it, I should have the heads off.

Lol, I have a broken tensioner bracket...so would you think that I don't need one? ;)

Well, I should post an update. After much though, and much rust on the underbody and frame on the car. With having to spend over $10'000 just to get her, or an Mx-3 back on the road, that I figured it would be best to cut my losses. It's been a great 7yrs, and it's time move on to something bigger and better. I'm sad about doing this, but I'm excited to what could be in store.

For the thread on my part-out, if you have any interest in any parts, everything on the car is up for grabs:

This is just a final update

Indeed after almost 3 years of waiting to get back in the seat of a car and several months of searching, I've finally found myself a new car! The car was indeed MINT, absolutely beautiful! Only 48'000 (now 49'000 :)) kms on it and never winter driven...it was well worth the wait. It's also just nice to be in a car again, and I forgot how amazing that car handled! Drove it all weekend than put it away for the winter...

It was a GREAT run with the Mx-3 but it's nice to move on. The Rx-8 handles amzingly, even better than my Mx-3 was modified! Look forward to getting some work done on her :)

Just curious, did anyone ever get/reuse your JDM skirts? "moonegs" and I were discussing how many "know" sets of the JDM skirts are in North America.

Thanks. So many ideas left unrealised, but fortunately most if can be done on the Rx8...in time...and more likely improved on since the Mx-3 was my very first car and she turned out alright :)

I can't remember or find or remember who I sold them to
