Turbo Cooper S!!

Hey guys,
One of my customers send me some info on a 25psi Cooper S they are workin on. Check out the pics.

sweet man, hey btw you'r working at bmw dealership right? you wouldnt know which new bmw has small gas filler, cause ive read on other board how this lady went to get gas for first time and filler neck was too small to fill gas :shrug:

there is a crazy Mini (older model) that goes to the carshow everyweek here in Ottawa. the hood is all cut up with vents, little VHS sized intercooler, turbo the size of a grapefruit, a few body mods, interior done to the 9's.......sorry I don't have any figures for you......but it's proof that anything can be made with $$$

I'm alittle confused... isnt the cooper S supercharged? So they removed the supercharger and are custom fabricating a turbo? :confused2:

Or am i wrong all together?

- ZE, Mike seli 214 intake cams, Ported n polished heads, Interprep valve springs, DE retainers, rebuilt bottom end, toga main and rod bearings, toga hv oil pump, CZT 67mm tb, mbx udp, ported intake mani, SS headers, 2.5inch full exhaust, racingbeat muffler, highflow cat, megasquirt v2.

new toy, 86 TII rx7, JDM S5 motor/turbo, + alot of other goodies

yes the Cooper S is supercharged. If a custom turbo is being fabricated just think you already have an intercooler in the car so you dont need to custom fit one.

My only question is why is the supercharger being replaced with turbo?

U do need to custom make one. The intercooler on the S is built on top of the supercharger.

They replaced it because they now can get 25psi on a turbo. Pretty neat eh??

stock psi is 11.6psi at 5500rpm

yeah but a super gives you more torque... something the mini can use.

thats quite the boost in pressure from stock. Sounds like a cool project. If you hear anything more about it like hp gains when its finished keep us informed

might give ya more trq, but at 25 psi i dont think it matters
